novice newb needs your advice!

was told that this was the place to get advice from the real professionals...

hoping you guys can help me out....

i have a 1999 rio red cobra, very good condition, very minimal spider marks, very little fading..

but still its ford paint, and its 6 years old...

the car is not garaged, and is daily driven....

am looking for a line up of products that will protect my finish, and brighten it up (the products Ive found for red cars suggest it will darken appearance of finish ie: souveran carnuaba, clearkote RMG) :shrug

will eventually invest in a porter cable, in the meanwhile planning on doing this all by hand....

so far this is what im looking at:

basic clay and wash, followed by

you guys figure i'll get durable protection from this combo?

1)Menzerna IP
2)Menzerna FPII Final Polish *OR* PO87MF ?? :shrug
3)ClearKote Vanilla Moose (Hand Glaze)
4)ClearKote Carnuaba Moose Wax and/or S100

anything i should add or replace?

have been told that S100 doesnt attract dust as much as other waxes...

hoping this will give me durable protection?

does it get much better than this for what im looking for?

have been told it would be ideal to let the ClearKote CMW sit for 24 hours before applying the S100?

assuming everything else can be done without any curing time?

have not been able to find alot of info on the menzerna, was only told its a top notch product...

thanks guys, really appreciate any insight/advice.... :thumbs-up

Do yourself a favor and lurk around Autopia University for awhile. Every new person asks this question.

Your lineup sounds fine, except you don't need BOTH the s100 and the CMW. That would be redundant. Also, the Mezerna may be very hard to get the results you'd like by hand. Applying by PC gives you superior results with those polishes.

If I were you, I'd clay first, then VM by hand, and s100 or CMW on top.

Wait for the Porter Cable to really get the scratches out!

Yes, VM/CMW or S100.
