Clearcoat failure?

My '95 GMC Sierra has something strange going on. I was using SSR 2.5 with the PC today, and I noticed small white dots in several places. When I scratched at one of them it appears as if the clearcoat popped off in the area that was white. Is this the beginning of the end for my clearcoat? I had a '90 Pontiac Grand Prix that had a similar thing happen, but on a much larger scale right along a bend in the sheet metal on the hood. It spread very rapidly on that car, and was clearly the clearcoat dying. Should I touch up the areas on my truck where this is happening with some clearcoat touch up, or what? I tried to take pics, but it didn't really come out well because the spots are only a little larger than the size of a pin head. In this picture it is the little crater you see at the top near the middle.

Sorry to be the guy to break the bad news but it’s probably history.

You may be able to "fix" a spot here or there if it was caused isolated chemical attacks (bird bomb, chemical splatter or something) but chances are they're just the beginning.

PC.
