Rock Chips!!!

Well with only 400 miles on the Viper I already have some rock chips along the tire side sill. I ordered touch up paint but what should I do before I touch it up? Should I just do a regular wash touch it up and then put some wax etc. on it? Thanks

anyone have a how to link on how to fix rock chips?
