Convertible top help

hey guys, i guess i am killing 2 birds with 1 stone with this post. i detailed a friends 03 beetle conv't today. the car is like new so i did not even bother washing the top. but since he just got it, he is interested in finding out how to keep it up.

and in return i am interested also, since i may detail convertibles in the future.

what products to you recommend, ( his top is cloth like ) not onoly cleaning / protecting products but what about what to clean with, a cotton towel would obviously leave nothing but fuzz everywhere

Very Easy Question. Ragtopp is tops, they have a cleaner and a protectant. The protectant is a must, and many different prodcuts will clean it, to be safe order the cleaner too. I also use this to protect interior rugs, it is like Scotch Guard but I think it lasts longer. This can will last a good long while. I usually put one coat, then rub it in with my hands, let it dry for a couple hours, then put another coat on. You top will bead water like your paint after waxing it.
