What do you use after the full detail?

So, I plan to fully detail my G35 next weekend. But I am thinking to myself what do I do when I just want to touch up after a wash. All I have are liquid sealants, glaze and polishes. The only wax I have is S100, but thats used for a topper only.

My detail plans:
Wash
Clay
Wash
FPII
FTG
FMJ
S100

So, say about a couple weeks down the road after my detail, I wash my car, what do I need to use to just touch up the finish? I'm guessing a liquid wax like Z2 or AIO, not a sealant like FMJ?

What do you guys use?

You're not going to want to use AIO because it will remove your FMJ. You'll either want a non-cleaner wax (s100) or some type of pure glaze (mothers sg) that will not remove your sealant yet will still add a little extra to the finish.

Z2 isn't going to bond to whats there .. with what you have your pretty well stuck to S100 or some other carnuba .. As posted above ..don't use the AIO.

Since S100 was the last product applied I see no reason you can't just put another coat on. If you really want something quick and don't need any more protection just use a QD. I just washed my car tonite and used Quikshine afterward and it looks great!

I'd use a quality QD after each wash (my favorite is Clearkote's Quikshine) and since your topper is S100, just put on another coat every 4-6 weeks.

I was thinkin' that this is specifically what QD is made for . . .

Are you saying that I can put Meguiar's #81 Hand Polish on top of my Klasse SG??? Or are you saying this applies specifically for FMJ only?

I've always wondered if I could top Klasse SG with a pure glaze and then top the pure glaze with a paste wax.

I don't know much about #81, but if it is strictly a glaze without any cleanears (like #7) then yes you would be fine to use that. The type of sealant underneath it doesn't really matter, as long as a non-cleaner type product is being applied on top of it (a wax or a glaze). Not sure if that helped. Scottwax is pretty familiar with #81 so maybe he will see this thread.

I dunno if you *can* do the "glaze/wax over SG" thing, but I wouldn't be in a hurry to find out either I'd just keep adding more SG with a gentle spot-claying as needed. If you've topped the SG, then I'd just add some more of the topper from time to time (again, spot-clay as needed).

Whatever the LSP is, just keep doing that if you want to do more than just using a post-wash QD.

I always get left with a squeaky surface after using #81. I'm not sure how to interpret it, but my own feeling (without any proof) is that #81 tends to remove some, if not all, of whatever topping you use.

thats what i would say.. seems like you're trying to figure out a way to "touch up" the detail after washing it, so most use quick details, as do i. make sure its a quality detail.. since you're using a carnauba topper, id recommend something like the sonus carnauba spritz. also, a good spray wax (no QD even though it says it is) would be poorboys QD+.. its really good, leaving a nice shine
