Question Basic Detail Questions????

Hey everybody,

I'm new to the site and have a few questions about basic detailing. I purchased a new car recently and am curious to hear about recommendations for any of the following products:

Leather - looking for a product that will both keep the leather supple and will also provide protection (for seats and dash board)

Alloy Rims - looking for a product that will remove the brake dust and protect the rims from all other elements

Soap - Any recommendations on soap for washing the car? Do particular car soap brands make any difference?

Any recommendations for the above products will greatly be appreciated.

Thank you in advance!

E-

Elomori Welcome !

You'll find a lot of good products mentioned on autopia that just come down to a matter of personal preference. For my interior I like 1Z Cockpit Premium for the vinyl and 1Z Lederplege for the leather.

Rims I just wash with an extra strength solution of car shampoo and apply a sealant like AIO or EX-P.

You'll find as many opinions on soaps as there are members of autopia. NXT, Gold Class, EO Wet are available locally and many have good things to say about them. 1Z Perls, Griots, and many others available online are also highly praised.

Read through the learn section and you also use the search function to find threads with many answers and opinions. Try a product that sounds good to you and then after a little time try another. That's one of the fun things about so many good products is getting to try them all.

Congratulations on the new car and once again welcome!
