    Rough repaint???

Well, I ran a carfax on my used Jetta before buying to see if it was hit. It showed nothing, nor did my careful inspection. Whoever did the work, did a pretty good job.

However, I did notice on the very bottom of my front bumper a rough spot in the paint, feels gritty, but not the needs clay type of gritty. The paint had a rough texture to it. Its glossy, and the paint was clearcoated. I polished the front bumper when I got the car but didnt get any paint transfer to the pad that I noticed.

Is this an area that wasnt wetsanded after painting perhaps?
I think the car was in a fender bender and paid for without insurance which is why I didnt pick it up. I suspect the hood was repainted as well, but the work on the hood looks very much perfect.

Something to worry about, something I can fix? Maybe a DACP like product down to a light cut polish? Or does this need wetsanding perhaps?

I experienced the same thing when I had my rear bumper repainted. It felt gritty/coarse so I suspected that it wasn't wetsanded enough. i repaired it myself, I used 3000grit to wetsand, DACP and #80 to remove marring.
