#83 Vs 3M's PI III machine glaze (5937)

I washed both doors on the passenger side, and tested 3M's PI III machine glaze on one, and Meg's #83 on the other. Honestly, I cannot see much of a difference, expept maybe a wee bit leaning towards PI III machine glaze. I used Meg's polishing pad for both doors.

Meg's is rated 6 out of 10 on the abrasiveness scale, and PI III machine glaze is supposed to be a swirl remover and for light scratches.

I once read on this forum or some other that PI III machine glaze was slighly less abrasive than #83.

Anyways, I post this to get what you guys think about both in terms of results, shine etc...

Cheers

Yeah,

I think a closer comparison would be the PI III RC vs. the DACP #83.

You get more shine with the Megs but I think that the 3M works better and breaks down quicker. I am not a fan of #83 which is DACP I think for it removing swirls, I just dont have much luck with it.

It's true the 3M's break down quicker, I've noticed that too.

Bill, you're quite right about your comparison. I'll probably see more of a difference tonight under mercury light. In the daylight, the shine was the same, at least if there was a difference, It was way subtle. I problably didn't see any difference, cause #83 was probably not needed in the first place--the surface was already quite smooth and shiny. I simply wanted to compare both to see whether there's any difference in beauty.

MG produces more dust than DACP, 3M fine cut produces ALOT more more dust

I like the 3M polishes alot cause they give great results.. better than megs IMHO but the amount of dust is a major drawback

If the FCRC you're using is the PI-II 39002, you might try the PI-III 05933. It seemed to dust a *lot* less and is now my go-to 3M RC. Slightly milder than the PI-II stuff, though. If you're already using that one, then "never mind"
