total newbie Q... quick detailer uses??

I have used quick detailer for one thing only... quick detailing. Fingerprints, bird poo, smudges, etc. on an otherwise fairly clean car.

I've been reading about all sorts of other uses for it. Pad lubrication for applying polish/wax is one, but it seems from some posts that some people use it on their WHOLE car between wax application.

Can someone explain that to me? I would never rub anything into a dirty car and then wipe it off. Likewise, if I've just washed it, if it needs wax, I'll wax it again. If not, I'll just enjoy the shine. What am I missing?

Thanks in advance,

Jason

Since using QEW/WAUD I haven't been QDing the car like I used too and that was primarily to remove water spots after washing and drying. If your going to put a sealant or wax on that has no cleaning abilities after you wash than using a QD to remove any remaining water spots before sealing them in is one good reason.

Your use for quick detailing is fine, especially for bird stuff.
As far as Pad lubrication, it helps the product go on smoother. People will use it on the whole car between layers to help enhance the shine (Zaino's Z6 for instance).
Also, after you do a regular wash, you may want to QD the whole car to help the upkeep of your sealant or wax. Also adds a little pop back to your paint.
hope this helps
