P21S Total Auto Wash used as a car wash?

Hey guys...

I'm going to be putting some Zaino on my parents' cars pretty soon (excellent opportunity to try the system before I decide to switch from Klasse on my car). I've got some P21S Total Auto Wash, and I was considering using it for that first wash...to get the paint really good and clean before claying. Since I'm going to have to wash it twice, I figured I would wash with Dawn the second time and then Z1/Z5.

I'm just concerned that it may be a little too harsh, or may not sud up enough and offer enough protection to be used as a proper car wash. What do you guys think? I've never used the stuff, by the way, just got it to get rid of some bug guts on my car that are NOT coming off so far.

By the way, have any of you guys tried the "Safe Scrub Bug & Tar Sponge" from CMA? I've got one, but it feels pretty rough, so I'm a little scared to use it before I hear first hand that it's safe.

One of these cars is an Explorer, so I'm not looking forward to it. But it's in pretty good shape, but hasn't been all that well protected. It's got some swirls and stuff, so I'm really looking forward to seeing what Z can do. The paint is light blue, by the way, so I think the results will be really nice. The other is a burgundy Mazda 626 that could really really use some protection.

Any input or recommendations is appreciated!

Thanks,

Gary

If your concern is to lack of suds, wash with dawn first then the P21S. I'm not familiar with the Z line but if the Z has a prewax use that instead of Dawn.

As for the sponge, test it on a small spot on your car first.

If you like you can see if it scratches a CD, if it doesn't then you're golden, if it scratches it a little, probably okay, if it scratches it a lot, then you can only test it on your car cause a CD is softer then a clear anyways.

Nice to see a B5er here; you're here about as many times as I am at ClubB5.

Good luck and keep us posted.
