98 Ford Explorer detail tomorrow

The old lady's car gets left out in the yard and treated pretty bad, I haven't had a chance to detail it since I did it last year some time and the guy who regularly washes it, doesn't do any paint protection so I will be spending nine hours on it tomorrow doing a level 5 vice president detail

Plan of attack

Pressure rinse - check for fallout - remove with car chem acidet if neccessary
Omikron Super Shampoo wax free wash
mask door handles, mouldings and edges of doors
Menzerna Compound - 6 cyl of fury has given me a small sample
Meguiars pro SMR
Dinitrol 7020 deluxe wet look polish
(this is made in sweden and is antistatic and solvent free)
two hours later - 3M Premium Liquid Wax
Blue Magic interior vinyl/plastic treatment
Vacuum carpet etc
All rubber seals rejuvinated with non scented Baby Oil
Shampoo floor mats with Car Chem CL7
Windows cleaned with Omikron Klearview Blue - followed by Omikron Fast Wax over the top for a mirror glaze finish
Wheel arch and chassis blackening with Omikron RD Black
Tyre shine - Car Chem Seal It & Jal Chemicals Tyre Rejuvinator
Chrome wheels shined with my Chroma Gleam product made from peels of banana's, apples, pineapples and oranges
Door Jambs polished with Magnum Top Gear Lustre Power sealant
Farecla Black Top Hand Glaze to hide any marks

Will post pics when done.

Well I modified my method a bit

Meg's Pro Paint Cleaner, Meg's Pro Swirl mark remover, Menzerna Twins, Klasse AIO, Dinitrol Polish, 3 coats of Klasse SG, Malco Flash Wax on hood, Pacer Rocket Carnuba Wax ( Creme) on rest of car.

Result is unbelievable. Zero Swirls, super silky smooth finish with great rich wet look. Its like there is a half inch thick sheet of glass over the top of the paint. but still some scratches left over from another detailers work. (friend of my old man's)
Sideways scratches from when he used a rough scourer to remove bugs from end of hood a few weeks ago

I even tryed some SG on my car , over the top of Bodyseal paint protection. Smoothness of paint was extrordinary.
Next time I detail my car I will apply two coats of SG after drying.

Man, it sounds like you're doing alot on this car! Also, remember to wait the 24 hours between coats of SG.

The reason why I used so many steps is that I wanted to try out the menzerna and klasse samples I was given. In normal circumstances the procedure would have been

Paint clean, SMR, Dinitrol Polish, 3M Liquid Wax
Thanks for the advice on SG coats. Didn't know that.
