Civic SI grille

I own a 2000 Civic SI. One of the distinguishing features of the SI is the honeycomb front grille (plastic). The grille is comprised of a pattern of maybe 150-200 1/2 inch (or smaller) openings. Anyone out there have a suggestion as to how to clean and protect this area? Getting behind it doesn't seem to be feasible, can I apply AIO and get it off in time, or will I be left with a difficult-to-remove haze? Is there an easy way to do this, or am I going to have to detail one opening at a time? Any Civic SI owners out there who are familiar with what I'm looking at? Thanks for any help.

I have cleaned mine with numerous things, Qtips, foam swabs, etc. I have settled on using the E-Z detail brush from top of the line. It worls like a charm.

As far as dressing it, I have been treating it like vinyl since day one. I usually use meguiars #40 on it applied with a foam swab. 100,000+ miles later and it still looks fine.

If you are looking for something faster, but IMO a bit messier(is that a word) check an aerosol type protectant. I know that meguiars has a new one called accent dressing and sprayway makes one called instant shine. Both will allow you to dress the areas faster, but be careful not get overspray on the paint.
