Remove paint without removing THE paint?

Here is the problem, my father seems to have run over a can of paint (he says he even saw the can on the street!) with his 93 Nissan Quest. How can we remove that from the minivan without damaging it's paint? Here is what it looks like:

Something like paint thinner should help. Just go easy on it. If a paint cleaner or a polish or clay doesn't work then I would go for the paint thinner and just be really careful. If this is fresh paint then it should be easy. The paint on the van has been clear coated and cured and all that fun stuff. Its going to be a lot more durable and the paint thinner shouldn't hurt it if you aren't squirting it all over the place. Just get some on a towel and start working one area at a time. Wash the area thouroughly after you are finished.

And what a lovely shade too. Yikes.

Start gentle and work your way up. I think this will require more time than anything. I'd wash then try a bug and tar remover (which I doubt would work, but you never know) then move on to rubbing alcohol, then WD40, and then actual paint thinner.

My mind wants to say that a good strong window cleaner like EO 20/20 will soften that, but I'm not sure where that's coming from.

Thanks to both of you! I'll start with the easy stuff first and if nothing works, then turn to the paint thinner, will take my time with it though.

3M General Purpose Adhesive Cleaner (PN 08984) will work. A couple weeks ago I spilled Touch up paint on my car while I was repairing some chips. I spilled it on the drivers side door. I cleaned most of it right away and thought I had got it all. A couple days later I noticed a few spots that I had missed and used the 3M product to remove it. It cleaned up well and no harm to my paint.

You can try the mother paint chip remover. It suppose to only take off non cured paint. That Y in the directions it says not to use if you had your car repainted and it has not properly cured.

It's an expensive use of Paint Chip Repair. Assuming it's household paint, I'd go for paint thinner or mineral spirits.
