What it's like to be a newbie
Well I have to say, I am not a newbie to detailing, but I am a newbie to my new hobbie which is keeping a fish tank.
It is not as easy as you think. you dont just through water in a tank and put the fish in.
I have tons of questions that needed to be answered, when someone on autopia gave me a fish forum to get my questions answered. I am asking everything from water questions to fish questions and the help I am getting is great, making my life a lot easier.
http://www.aquariacentral.com/forums/index.php?s=
Now back to autopia, if your new here, ask away! your questions will get answered. You may not understand how we answer them at first, but you will catch on. I now know what it's like to be a newbie on another forum.
You get that wierd feeling like you dont want to screw up the paint (or kill the fish ) Thats were the forum comes in, ask before you try it and we can walk you through it.
NYD
Don't be shy, ask away!

It really does help!! And its also great having friendly people who will answer you questions over and over, and not just say use the search button(which I am jsut now learning ) This place is great, I have learned so much in so little time, and it also helped me a lot on selecting what products to buy.
BTW, if you want, I might could help on some of the fish questions, me and my dad have 4 55 gallon tanks

Flushing a fish down the toilet is a lot easier than flushing a car.
My rule of thumb on any forum, be nice to newbs, we were all there once. I'm still there where here is.

Hi Brian, good luck with the tank. How about adding a Redtail shark, some Black Molly's and some varitail guppies. I really liked the sharks when I had my tanks. All of the above are live bearers so you will need to get a small breader tank. Great hobby, have fun with it.

I had tiger barbs & a tri-color shark, but they did not get along, so i split them up and gave the barbs away. Then i added all the fish above, but the shark did not get along with them.
I dont plan on breading any fish. THEY better not lay an eggs or crap like that. How do i know if they did.
LOL
