Tire Dressing - Wheel Cleaner taking it off ?

When I apply tire dressing to my tires ( in my case Z16 ) is the product absorbed into the tire or is it just a coating that is ontop of the tire.

I finally got my tires the way I wanted it. I got the tires real clean with EFHI and 2 coats of Z16. The 2nd coat was a bit too glossy but it went away after a days worth of driving.

Anyhow, the brakes on my X5 are notorious for the brake dust. Once the pads wear down, I'll replace them with ones that produce less dust. Along with my usual weekly car wash, I always wash the wheels with EFHI diluted.

Will the EFHI strip the tire dressing off the tire too or is the *product* absorbed into the tire ?

I would assume any cleaner will at least fade if not remove tire dressings when used to clean the wheels. Best bet is to always reapply the dressing after a thorough wheel cleaning. That works for me.

To cut down on constantly washing the wheels I use either an old Kozak cloth or a few wet terry cloths. This extends the time period between when the wheels need a full blown cleaning again.
