I wax my black vette with zaino, everything is perfect. but this is texas and you almost always have to use a detail spray. All streak on a black car including zaino, meq, etc etc. What I use is one capful of zaino carwash in a quart spray bottle of distilled water and it is tough to detail but it does not streak. Does anybody have a better product that will not streak on a black car. Most all regular products work on most colors but black has stomped me for years. | |

I agree that Meguiar's QD does streak unless you are a magician.
I have always used Z6 on my black Grand Prix and haven't had streaking problems. I don't use MF towels though. I use 100% cotton SUPER THICK towels. I don't know if that makes a difference.

Turns out, I was doing two things wrong: I was using too much product, and I was using too much pressure on the MF. Since I now use less spray and lighter pressure, the problem hasn't recurred. YMMV.

Another possibility is that you're QDing when the paint is still too warm or QDing in the sun (sun + black paint = HOT!), which will cause most QDs to streak like crazy. Quickshine is reportedly more forgiving for this though.
