A nice car compliment

So I was rinsing my car off in our waste-treatment bay at work on Friday and an electrician that is working on our plant asked me if that was my car. Then he told me how nice it was and asked me how old it was. Looking at my watch, I had realized I missed my car's b-day (oops) and my car had turned 3 on the 13th. So I proudly said "three". He was like, 3 months? I was like no, 3 years.

Sometimes just the little comments make your day.

BTW, earlier this winter some guy told me I had a nice Lancer. I mean come one, the Jetta comment is okay, but a Lancer? I don't know which one was worse, that or this girl I met that said nice Focus

YoSteve- Lancer-OK, heh heh; FOCUS-?HUH? Well, at least they notice and appreciate how nice you keep it.

BTW, just spent a weekend with your microfiber towels (did a friend's A6) and they still continue to impress me. VERY nice !

I spent about three hours working on my truck one night and pulled up infront of a bookstore and some guy asked me if it was new

I was like, "nope, going on three years!"

car comps

i had a similar experience at christmas time while putting a tree in the back end of my truck. one of the workers at the tree farm said, "that's a brand new truck and you're selling it already?" i laughed and replied, " hell, it's not new, it's 5yrs. old and got 100k miles on it." the guy looked dumbfounded, shook his head and walked away. it felt great to have someone say something like that.

I had a similar experience at a car show last year. A guy and a friend of his walked over to my Corvette and made the statement that my car was brand new.....it's really 10 YEARS OLD! I realized right away that he did not follow body style changes in Corvettes, but I did get a chuckle out of that one. Makes you feel good.

I went to the dealership and got offered a job to clean car's there. I turned it down though being that I already have a good job and the stories I've heard on how they clean car's. Another guy asked me if my car was new. I was like "Nope, 9 years old." He told me "You keep that thing clean, son." More people have asked if my car was new also. I love getting compliments.

I know how you feel, I've heard "Nice Jetta" more than a couple times.

It is nice to hear those kind of compliments. People have a hard time believing my Accord is 13 years old and is (now) 350 miles shy of a quarter of a million.

Makes all the hard work worth it!

LMAO!! whats amazing is I know a guy with an 87 toyota previa van with 276K miles which looks the exact opposite of yours... its wearing 10-15 cans of krylon flat black in a two-tone arrangement with krylon chrome paint on the bottom rockers. Complimented by a baby blue interior, 15" chrome american racing rims, and instead of back seats, he has an old tan la-z-boy recliner in the back... what a piece... nicknamed "The Sh*tty"
