Question for people who switched from Zaino

I am curious. If people have used zaino in the past and switched, I would like to know why they switched and what the switched to. I would also like to know if anyone has switched back to zaino after trying something else.

Thanks

It is a personal preference. I switched to klasse because 1) I could bertter layer carnauba on top and get that dept (not suggested for zaino per Sal), 2)less dust attraction IMO, 3)less time (with zxf the time difference has diminished) since more stages of prep work is required. AIO is a great base to use as you can top it with nearly any sealant or carnauba. Both Zaino and Klasse are great products and I do not want to get into any heated discussions b/w them (there are threads already dealing with that). This is just my choice and I love the klasse.

Klasse / Souveran here

I was a zaino biggot for quite some time, but I never (yes I mean never) got the application of the product to go on without streaking. Yes, I tried all the tricks posted here and elsewhere and even talked directly to Sal. This was, just so you know, prior to the Zfx additive and perhaps that could change things. Nice finish, great optical clarity but there was that one issue that I could not get around. There was also the drying time per coat of this and that. Way too long . Remember, this was pre Zfx.

Bottom line is, I tried Klasse based upon many of the postings here, and never went back. Why? Seems that AIO works very well, and the SG, when put on super thin, is reasonably easy to use. Protection seems great, and clarity is indistinguishible from Z to my eyes. To boot, it is less money. Money, by the way, that I dumped into Souveran, because, well, I was dumb. OK. OK. It is great stuff, but not anything that I can see a difference between say S100 or something like that. I just wanted a wetter look, and I liked the combination. When the Souveran runs out it will likely be replaced with the less expensive S100.

I also agree that Klasse seems to attract less dust. Again..MHO.

Jeff

I used zaino for 2 years on the Porsche's. I never really had the wet-look or shine that others have seen. Switched to Klasse AIO and sov./P21 and got the shine I was looking for. Not saying Z is not a good product, just wasn't for me. The combination that I'm using gives me a much deeper wet-look on my Black car.

Seems like Zaino is preferred on lighter colors. A Klasse / Carnuba topper seems to be preferred by most for dark colors, particularly black. No flames please Z folks.... just seems to be the current that I see.

After much fumbling around trying different products, I've finally settled on using carnauba only. On my black car, I went from using Klasse to Zaino, back to Klasse, then back to Zaino...and now I'm using P21S (w/ no polymer base).

Of course, if I didn't live in So Cal or any area where it hardly rained and never snowed, I wouldn't consider anything other than Klasse or Zaino.

The next test for me on black will be the new BF

Zaino is horrible. I stopped using it and started wiping down my car with Valvoline 10w30. Much easier to use and a much more wet look.

I used Zaino on my 6 year old blue Jeep and were impressed with the results. Trying it on my 2 year old black Elantra, I was not impressed at all.

Seems different paints react differently.
