TEFLON question

Okay anyone use the Simonize System 5?? I wrote Teflon.com and asked them the question below.

I apologize I'm sure you get this question everyday. But more and more I
see
companies who offer car polish with Teflon and guarantee it to last 5
years. I
have read that this is impossible and that Teflon needs to be heated to 621
degrees to become useful. Here is a claim from just one company.

Heres there response:

Thank you for your inquiry regarding Teflon®. Available only at new car
dealerships, Simoniz® System 5 is the only paint protection system in the
USA and Canada that is fortified with Teflon® and licensed in the US to use
the Teflon® brand.. Simoniz® car protection after market products are sold
only at car washes, auto dealerships and detail shops. The heat bonding
process applies to the application of non-stick coatings to metal cookware
(800 degrees F). No heat is required for car wax applications. Please
contact Simoniz USA directly for information regarding the availability and
performance of their products.

I am sure if you do a search you can find multiple topics on teflon. I took a look at Dupont's site and didn't see an application for automotive paint.Which wouldn't be a good indication of its worth in any wax/sealent system in my opinion.

Personally I think it's a gimmick. Not only does it tout the non-stick properties of Teflon, but it also says it's warrantied for 5 years. Now, as I recall, such "dealer installed paint protectants" are only guaranteed if you take it in every so often for a refresher session. I don't know for sure, but I wouldn't be at all surprised if they just re-applied the sealant every time you did this.

The teflon.com site also lists the Fram Doubleguard with Teflon dust in it. Now I remember reason #2 I still don't trust Fram.
