Re: Windshield help needed

Have you tried a good glass polish like Duragloss NuGlass? You can use that stuff by hand and MF and do some amazing things.

But...on the interior of a windshield? Or only for the outside?

I thought the OP was talking about the outside, but I'm sure you could use it on the inside. It's really an amazing product and you can pick it up at your local CarQuest.

Yes, the film is on the outside of the windshield. I finally had a free moment today to try and clean it with Tarminator. Looking at it, it looks flawless. However, under the right lighing conditions you can still see whatever it is on it. To the touch, it's smooth however when visible, it almost looks like overspray. It's really odd. I can't figure it out.

Jake, I think I was thinking the same thing as you. It's driving me nutts, so tomorrow I'll start calling around trying to get an estimate for a new windshield.

Just for giggles, I think that I'll try hitting it up with some M205/Orange pad combo via my Flex 3401. I'll let you know how it turns out.

Re: Windshield help needed

i thought you were talking about inside, that changes things.

x2 on polishing. Something could have gotten on the outside and stained or etched the glass. Either way you said it is smooth so it should polish right out. You could always call a windshield repir place too, I'm sure they've seen it before and may be able to reccomend a process.
