Let us know how that turns out in the spring.
I started 3 weeks ago.
Newer Benz Wagon: OPS, 1000p x 2 + DWG for fun (looks AMAZING!)
Old Benz Wagon: 815IW,476s, OCWx2
2500hd: 815IW+476s (maybe need a late feb layer of 815)
3 Down, 5 to go.

Re: Who's doing/done their winter prep?
just did my moms car this weekend clayed plus a 1 coat of dg105 along with there bonding agent. might throw another coat on next weekend.
started my nismo today full decontamation to remove all the other waxes i have on it. i then clayed the car with mothers clay bar, wont ever do that agian, it marred the crap outta my car, so now i had to polish it. im using 205 on green lcc pad via rotary . im very impressed with this combo removed all the marring and took about 95 percent of all swirlls out, only left a few rids behind and no halograms. will top with dg 105 or mabey bh autobalm. Has any one else had a clay bar marr up there car bad?

Re: Who's doing/done their winter prep?
I'll be applying a couple of coats of Blackfire Wet Diamond next month on my S2000. I am already using Ultima Paint Guard Plus on my wife's CR-V. I'll just keep using that.

Re: Who's doing/done their winter prep?
Hey, glad to here back & that you're doing Poli-Seal. I'll be using that, as well. Then adding the Collonite 845. Not sure if I'm ordering snows for the Impala from TR or not (I have snows & wheels from the 2005 I had but need the tire pressure monitors to go with them).......and I need wipers too. Sounds familiar!
Hope the snow stays away, too. Today's weather sucked!
Go Bills! (Oh, please.......please get going. By the time we get to game 8, they'll have no starting players. Ugh...ugly loss on Sunday....I thought they had a shot until Jauron elected to punt w/7min. to go on 4th and one. That was it......and the fact that they didn't really try getting the ball to wide receivers very well. Well, let's hope!!)
See ya.

I need to order some rubber floor mats (along with snow tires and new wiper blades in about a month and a half) in addition to my winter detailing prep. Poli-Seal plus a layer of 476s is what I'm counting on to keep me protected this winter. If you are doing 845, I would add another layer during a nice day in late November or early December, I'm probably going to do the same with 476s.

Re: Who's doing/done their winter prep?
Hey, I know about those ice storms down there. For the few times I've been to Dallas, one of those visits was spent IN an ice storm.....a gargantuan mess, to say the least. Especially on the interstates.....! Disaster.......it's bad here as well under those conditions, but, we've heard of salt! The weather has to be similar in OK. But, the temps largely stay up & the snow.......well, we'll not try to compare the snow............ UGH
Good luck w/the Black Diamond. Have heard good things about it and seen some professionally done cars using it. Stunning results.
See ya.

Soft clearcoat - it doesn't matter what type fo clay or how much I kneed it, I always marr the hell out of my g35 claying it. And it's black, so it sucks.

Personally, I hate it - I love my Z06s clear. I can wash and wash and wash and wash and not find any new micro-marring. Do the same with my g35, no matter how careful I am, and every so often I can find new micro-marring. Not much, most people wouldn't be able to see it unless they were using a Brinkman all the time post-washing and tilting their head every which way, but it's there and it displeases me greatly
Somewhere along the way (I think 02-03) Nissan switched clears. My dad's 01 q45 is a pleasure to wash and work with - easy to correct, but does not marr easily. 03 g35 is another story.

Re: Who's doing/done their winter prep?
What is the general course of action for some of you guys and your winter prep? Like, the entire process. I'm new to this, so I'm slowly learning.
