Thumbs up CMA Now Shipping to Canada! :)

CMA is now shipping to Canada!

It looks like I will be the first customer in Canada that CMA will be shipping to! I just received an email from Phil at CMA stating that my order will be shipped either today or tomorrow once they receive their resealable pouches from UPS that adhere to the outside of the shipping package for Canadian customs purposes.

Looking forward to receiving my MF Magic Towels, Big Blue Drying Towels, PC Access Kits, and PC Viper MF Bonnets.

Being the first Canadian customer they were nice enough to give me a discount for answering a few questions regarding UPS shipments to Canada.

Thanks again Phil!

Wow, this will be a huge leap for all canadians who have been trying frivolously to get products that they couldnt find.

Horray for CMA!!!

I'll wait 'til they ship by something other than UPS. UPS charges too much to broker the parcel. Is there any where in Burlington, Vermont or Plattsburgh, New York to buy stuff? We went to Burlington on a day trip Saturday (spent 2 1/2 hours in line for U.S. customs to get into the U.S.). I didn't see any stores that sold car care products, but I didn't look really hard. I was kinda pooped.

Check out www.motorhead.net They (apparently) ship USPS! I was going to buy my Klasse from them till I got it 2nd hand.

This is a bit irksome about CMA. I got a reply email less than a month ago saying they had to stop because it was so troublesome and something to do with the petroleum distillates and air transport and Sept.11...
Oh well, if I need some Pinnacle, Blackfire, etc, now I know where to get it!

I have found UPS is the most expensive transport there is. Expect the brokerage + GST + PST to be 30% to 40% the value of the shipment in CAN funds. I.E. value =$100 CAN, UPS=$40+

U.S.P.S. is the best method of shipping to Canada from a cost perspective. Once it reaches Canada, it is handed over to Canada Post who only charges $5 CAN brokerage. Of course you still have to pay GST + PST but sure beats UPS.

The second best method is FedEx. They are much more reasonable than UPS.

I try to avoid UPS as much as possible. It is a rip off!

I totally agree with Rob_K that using the Postal Service is the best way to go. I"ve even had shock absorbers sent via the post from California to Vancouver, BC. Takes about a week to deliver, and the cost savings are substantial.

Harry.

Anything but USPS is big rip off!! UPS ripped me off big one time. After that I swore I would never use them again.

Will CMA only ship with UPS or would they consider sending it via USPS?

Don't get me wrong, I don't mean to sound picky or ungratful. I'm glad CMA is now shipping to Canada. I'm just not rich enough for UPS.

TaxLady - You may want to search on a Mailboxes, Etc. or or something similar. CMA could ship there and you can drive down to pick it up. I used to live in Keene, NH and had friends in Montreal (man, I miss the gyros!! & St. Denis) so we'd always make a trip and bring stuff for them.

I don't know how Canadian Customs is lately.

Good Luck !

The reason UPS is so much is becasue they are the only shipping buisness that isn't in the hole. My dad has the exact numbers for all three companies. Fed Ex has alot of debt, and USPS has alot also (even though they have no taxes, registration ect.) UPS can run for somthing like 40 days with NO income. Just working off money they have in the bank. Thats why they are so expensive.

Still makes a hole in my pocket.

A good rule of thumb for Canadian shoppers is to double the US price to figure your final Canadian price (includes shipping, duty). Using UPS will add a good deal more on top of that (I think it depends on object's value). UPS is the devil!

I bought something shipped USPS Air and it just zipped through the border no problem - I don't need no stinking "brokerage"!

FYI: The $5 fee is a standard customs inspection fee (government), and "duty" is the sales tax levied depending what province you live in (GST only for Albertans!).

Don't be happy yet...

I was probably one of the first to complain about CMA not being able to ship to Canada. UPS charges too much which means only USPS or FedEx is the other alternative. Till CMA ships USPS marking on the customs sheet that the package is a gift and total value is under US$10 then it would be worth it. Come on CMA you can do it!!!!
