Re: Wax on glass vs. Rain x?

i've always had good luck with rain-x. last at least 3-4 months on most my cars. seems to wear off faster on my truck than my wifes suv.

Re: Wax on glass vs. Rain x?

I haven't use Rain-x but did use wax several years, and I didn't like the hazy look when driving at night.

Aquapel is guaranteed to last 6 months per application. Works good and nice beeding too.

If i were you I would seal them correctly instead. Look for any cracks that may be letting water in. I doubt any product will help that though IMO

Re: Wax on glass vs. Rain x?

I find ONR QD works the best. On really dirty windows Duragloss Nu Glass works wonders, mist with ONR to keep it working longer and boom, crazy beading. I tried carnuba but it made my wipers chatter like crazy.
Amsoil Rain Clear works well too, lasts longer than RainX

Re: Wax on glass vs. Rain x?

I put 476s on my windows about 6 months ago and they still bead great including the windshield.

Poliseal and KIO have worked great as well.

Re: Wax on glass vs. Rain x?

Try Aquapel. I heard this is the best in durability and beading. After I polish my windows, I am definitely trying this.

Re: Wax on glass vs. Rain x?

If I polish the glass, I normally use Optimum's Poli-Seal. I always clean my glass with Clearkote's Quikshine, customer's too. Rain beads off as well as it does with RainX and lasts longer too.

Re: Wax on glass vs. Rain x?

I've been using KAIO for all my glass, and really like it.... glass stays cleaner longer, and I haven't been able to beat it for beading. I use Invisible Glass to clean between apps.

Re: Wax on glass vs. Rain x?

I used to use rain-x until I ran out. I simply use an LSP to get the job done.

Re: Wax on glass vs. Rain x?

I notice if I use wax on the windows and it doesnt have any cleaners in it (like a pure caranuba) you will get streaking. I believe RainX is the better choice but thats not something that I always have lying around, so if I use wax I make sure its a cleaner wax. Never have any problems with it.
