Proper way to wetsand clear coat drip

Whats the exact process for this? Same as normal wetsanding?

Should the area be taped off?

Got a pic? Is it fresh, old? If it's fresh.. there's a little cube shaped tool that actually "shaves" the run off. Then you'd follow up with wet sanding and polishing.

Is this cube tool available at Pep Boys, Autozone etc?

Probably not. An autobody supply would be your best bet.

It would be ideal if I could just pick up some sandpaper to do this.

I use a new razor blade. You can rub the blade completely vertical to the paint, and shave off the run. You can also get a small block to sand it off. You can get this at your local paint supply store.

Treat it like doing a chip repair blob. And yes, you want to tape the area.

I've seen old timers do it this way and have flawless results. I would recommend that if you are going to use a razor blade, get the little cube that holds it. You'll be much safer. I have been painting cars since I was 14, and I still use the holder. Just like to be on the safe side.
