Join Date: Jul 2001 Posts: 556 | Big Zaino problem! Well, I've finally got to the point where I can get 3 full coats per 2 oz's of Z2/ZFX, or Z5/ZFX on my F-150 SuperCrew. Here's my problem.......... I've got 2 full bottles of Z2 and 3/4 of a bottle of Z5 that I got last year. At that rate, I will need to apply another 24 coats of Z2 and approximately 9 coats of Z5 before I can get some of the new and improved Z2/Z5.
Seriously, have any of you long time Zaino users noticed a noticeable difference between the old Z2 and the new Z2. Is it better, does it look better and last longer? Same question on the Z5 and the Z7 wash?
If so, I may have to start applying more coats of the Z2 to my John Deere Garden tractor!
Thanks in advance.

I'm going to be replinishing my zaino supplies today if I can get in touch with my zaino distributor. If I can't get to him then I may end up ordering some Blackfire products from CMA since I've placed 2 orders this week, each one shipped the same day and they will arrive 2 days after I ordered... I think I'm gonna like that place.

My plan is to use the remainder of the old stuff before buying the improved version. Why? I am completely satisfied with the appearance produced by the older version. I doubt if there is a lightyear improvement in the new formula which rates wasting existing product. I am a very calculating consumer.
This leave some excitement knowing that when I do re-order that the new formulation may bring even more customer satisfaction and enhanced car appearance. Delayed gratification is always more satisfying.

Good point! Still, It would be interesting to know if anybody sees a noticeable difference. I guess I'm never satisfied! and I have both the old and new formulations..the Z2 seems a bit orange-r and seems to separate into a water/polish thing when left alone for a period of time...
Sal says they're supposed to enhance beading, improve gloss, and have increased durability?!?!
Gotta hand it to Sal for finding a way to improve upon already great products!

As a matter of fact, Z2 and Z5 has been continually updated many times in the past without any announcements. It's all totally compatible and perfectly good. If your worried about getting the latest "high zoot" shine then make your last coat one with the newest bottle. The protective quality is unchanged.

Join Date: Jan 2002 Location: Memphis, TN Posts: 645 | New Zaino.... The new Z2 has been out for a while now, the newer Z5 formula began shipping this Spring. The Z2 is now pinker than before and the Z5 is almost orange or tan, compared to the previous cream color. As far as results go, well, I've used Z for a few years and I can tell a difference between formulas, but it is very slight. The newer Z5 applies easier than before and has a fantastic shine, more similar to the older Z2. On the other hand, the new Z2 seems to really bump up the gloss when used in multiple coats, i.e. with ZFX. If you're still using the older formulas, don't worry, the changes are so slight, most wouldn't even notice, other than the change in color. The durability and gloss does seem to last even longer, if that's possible, but it's hard to tell really. Just use up your current supply, then look forward to ordering the "newer" stuff. I've still got both versions, and regardless of which you use, you in for a fantastic shine with unsurpassed protection!

I guess I can wait to try to new stuff.............. but it won't be easy..... if you know what I mean!
I've heard that the new Z5 tends to darken the paint color a little more which gives it more of a "carnuba" (warm) look. Have you found that to be true?
