New Member - 1st Post - Help!

First off, thank you all for letting me learn so much from reading your posts in recent weeks. I really have learned a lot but I need some help.

I have a new white Infiniti G35, never detailed, even by the dealer. I bought a bunch of Griot's Garage stuff and Klasse AIO & SG.

First off I washed my car using Griot's Garage car wash then let dry.

Next I used Griot's Garage clay and did that.

Next I washed my car using a strong potion of Dawn and water.

Then I made a Griot's white sponge slightly damp and applied a small quanity of Klasse AIO and removed promptly with a Griot's micro fiber towel on the trunk only. Prior to this application my car's finish was definately wax free, not slick at all. After the AIO application, the car's finish felt mostly slick but with a slight hazy feeling in numerous places. I assumed that I just didn't get it everywhere, so I did it again. Still slightly hazy in places. Now if I rub hard on the hazy places, it seems to go away, but I thought that AIO was supposed to come off easy.

I am at a crossroads, please help.

1. If Klasse the thing for me to use?

2. Why the hazy feeling?

3. Did I leave out a step?

4. I thought I had read that you can remove the AIO with QD(Speed Shine) but I was afraid that it contained some carnuma or other wax and thought that you weren't supposed to put any kind of wax like product between the Klasse products.

I really appreciate any time that someone takes to try and help with my questions, and/or their input.

AIO is a "cleaner wax". The application method you used sounds more like what you might do with their "sealant glaze" or "sg" - which is very weird stuff designed to be applied over an already fully prepped surface (what AIO is for.) AIO can be applied with a damp or dry applicator, and does NOT have to be applied super thin - in fact super-thin is probably a mistake. It should be worked a bit to achieve the beneficial results of the cleaners. Let it dry well and buff it out.

I wonder if what you're feeling is simply some areas that got cleaned better than others?

If you have trouble buffing it out, try a damp microfiber towel (well-wrung) followed by a dry one oin the other hand. This method works well for SG, which is harder to buff out.

I wouldn't give up on the Klasse yet. Many people here have been using Klasse for years with great results.

When you say 'feeling', what exactly do you mean? Do you mean that a hazy film is visible under the bright sunlight? Because that is something that has been happening lately with a few Klasse users. Or if you are referring to haze caused by small amounts of product that hasn't been fully buffed off yet, then I would try carguy's suggestion of using a slightly damp MF followed by a clean dry MF. Another thing you might try (which carguy also suggested) is to work in smaller sections and work the product in a bit more until there is very little AIO left. That will make also make removal very easy plus you'll get the full cleaning power of AIO.

Doesn't sound like it.

Definitely do not use a carnauba based QD to aid in removal. I would just use a slightly damp cloth for the first pass and then a dry one for the second pass. It only takes a VERY small amount of water to make Klasse wipe off easily. In fact, YoSteve (our resident Klasse expert) sometimes breathes warm air (hehe, imagine him with wings and smoke coming out of his nostrils) on a stubborn area and the product wipes off easily. What I normally do is 'flick' a few drops of water unto a single MF towel with my fingers and that towel alone makes the product come off easily.
