New Polish Cut Level Chart

Ive been working on this for the past day and have just gotten
enough done to feel comfortable with posting it up

It is a work in progress.

There is another one somewhere that inspired mine, but I found it to be a bit outdated, and not inclusive of a lot of the most popular products often
discussed here on Autopia.

Feel free to give advice on abrasive levels, as well as additional products to add.
I did just build the site for this reason, so its not very sophisticated.

But enjoy and constructively criticize. Once I get a more definitive chart, Ill get it
formatted better.

-Craig

I am unable to access your chart. I receive this message:

"Your current permission level does not allow access to this page. Please contact the site owner to request site permissions for accessing this page."

I am running OS X, and I used the FireFox browser as stipulated.

Your Menz cut does not match Menzerna's chart and how can ssr2.5 have two different cuts?

Re: New Abrasives Chart

Craig, I know it would goof up your scale, but according to Meguiar's M105 enjoys a cut of 12, not ten.

You might also consider adding Meguiar's M95, which also enjoys a cut of 12.

Re: New Abrasives Chart

The 12 is in parenthesis. Ill consider adding 2 more levels of cut.

And Ill get on the M95. Thanks! Keep the info flowing guys

Re: New Abrasives Chart

Thanks for creating the chart. It's a big help for us rookies. Are OTC products out of the question? I'd like to see UC and Scratch-X.

Re: New Abrasives Chart

power gloss has more cut than m105 I just used both of them and acouple of 3m compounds to see what cut the best with best finish on the hood today on a 02' chevy pickup with oem clear that had RIDS bad. The only thing i don't like about power gloss is that when i first begin to spread it around w medium pressure it will tends to swirl similar to dry buff swirls, that seem like it takes longer to remove than the RIDS scratches sometimes. This has happened the past times i've used it, m105 doesn't do that is smooth all around. power gloss is very filmy compared to the finish of m105 mainly due to the lubricants that are able to support breakdown and get a good finish with a quite a bit of cut. I like the way they designed it is so it starts as a compound and finishes to a polish.

Re: New Abrasives Chart

Ok.. unless they redid the OPt hyper you need to move it down some... it was not up to power gloss

on poorboys.. SSR3 is rocks in a bottle so it should be at the top of the list

and ssr2 is a step above 1 so i would move that also
