Collinite 845 only lasting 1 week?

Ok, try to answer this. My 845 only lasted a week. The car got dirty due to rain once, i washed it once, and i washed it today again and its fockin not beading as it used to.

What is with this stuff?

Did you properly clean your paint before applying it? If you previously were using a silicone fortified cheap "wax" the collinite might not want to bond with the paint. So you may have to wash clay, polish then wax with collinite.

Re: Collinite 845 only lasting 1 week?

you must have done something wrong in either the prep or the wash?

Did you prep properly as suggested above, and what shampoo did you use? Some shampoos leave stuff behind - aka wash/wax - and the stuff that is left behind affects the beading. It ddoesnt necessarily mean the wax underneath is gone...

I have used this a few times and my neighbours old beater has had it on for weeks of abuse and I still see it bead and sheet like a champ every time it rains

I wonder if ONR ever interferes with sealant or wax bonding?

Re: Collinite 845 only lasting 1 week?

cvpiftw- I too wonder about the wash....but OTOH I've had some weird instances where 845 didn't last all that long for me on certain surfaces.

Still, that sounds mighty short-lived I'd re-prep and area and reapply the 845, then see if that area stays OK for a while.

And I'd watch which shampoo you use too.

You should go back and claybar it first, then use the sealant/wax.
