Re: Ask the Autogeek! Question & Answer Thread

[quote=jason@autogeek;1198379]The car is white with a lot of (smooth) black trim. What would you suggest to use to help keep this trim dark black? This includes mirrors, door handles, bumpers and side skirts. I have a small refill of forever black for the trim on my '96 328is, but I think I read that stuff is good for only textured trim, not smooth.

Black Wow Trim Restorer

Jason, what about Aerospace 303 for black trim? Seems like a more versatile product to buy. Thanks.

303 is great for UV protection but will not restore the trim

Meghan, I have 2 questions...

One is being sent via PM as I didn't think it was appropriate for an open forum.

&

When will the Orange LC 5.5" low profile pads be back in stock?

Re: Ask the Autogeek! Question & Answer Thread

Would the paint on a 08 Dodge Charger be considered as medium in hardness?

Re: Ask the Autogeek! Question & Answer Thread

From what I've heard, Chargers have pretty hard paint.

Unfortunately, the flat 5.5" orange pads have been discontinued but we can special order them....the CCS 5.5s are on sale as well.

Sure can! Black WOW does do a good job protecting trim, but an additional layer of 303 on top applied gentle and thin shouldn't disturb anything and will provide additional UV protection.

Re: Ask the Autogeek! Question & Answer Thread

Hi I'm a complete n00b and I have a question for you... I went out today and bought some car care stuff such as Meguiar's microfiber towels (set of 2), Meguiar's woolen mitt, Meguiar's non acid wheel cleaner, Kitten glass cleaner and Turtle Wax Platinum Series Ultra Gloss paste wax... I have some Armor All stuff as well from before but thats another story.

Finally my question. When I opened the Turtle Wax for inspection after I got home, I saw that it was wetter around the edge of the tub and some liquid was present above the surface and the wax also had some cracks in it. Is this supposed to be like that? Am I just paranoid? Also, I just realized that the microfiber towels (one yellow and the other red) are supposed to be for their waterless products. Does this matter? I got it because it was only one of two which had the nice polyester edges...

Sorry for the long question!!!

Re: Ask the Autogeek! Question & Answer Thread

How similar is Wolfgang Spritz Sealant to the discontinued DP Surface Spray Shield?
