Re: Ask the Autogeek! Question & Answer Thread

To make that metallic pop like crazy and really sparkle out in the sun I would apply 2 coats of Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant and then 2 coats of Pinnacle Signature Series II Carnauba Paste Wax.

This combination has given me the best look on gold w/ metal flake.

This will give the paint great looks and protection and the slickness and shine will also be hard to beat.

Re: Ask the Autogeek! Question & Answer Thread

Hey guys

I have both 303 aerospace protectant and megs endurance. which goes on first, the 303 or endurance, or can they even be added on top of one another?
->re: clay, do you clay the mirrors/windows/headlights/black rubber trim/wheels as well? What about kaio/ksg/p21s, do you apply them to all of the exterior including windows? would stoners windows cleaner go on before or after?
->do you wash your car in between coatings of klasse's sealant glaze/carnauba wax?

thanks

Re: Ask the Autogeek! Question & Answer Thread

I’m working on my 08 BMW M3 sedan in Jerez Black. The car has moderate swirls and spider webs all over.

After doing a lot of research, I ordered the following items (from Autogeek of course!):

Meguairs G110 DA Polisher
Menzerna Intensive Polish
Menzerna Final Polish
5.5” CCS Orange pads
5.5” CCS White pad
5.5” CCS Gray pad
5.5” CCS Red pad
Ultima PGP (OK, that one wasn't from Autogeek )

So now that I’m armed, where do I start? I’ve read that BMW paint is super soft and I believe it from the spider webs on the car.

I’m thinking start by trying FP on the white pad and see what that does. From there, step up to IP on the white pad. If still in need of correction, IP on the orange pad.

Am I wasting my time with FP on the white pad? Will that have enough cut to do anything?

Assuming I do end up needing IP on the orange pad, which pad do I use for the FP?

I have some 3M Imperial Hand Glaze. Would that be a good idea to use after the polishing and before the sealant?

Thanks for all the help!!!

As for 303 and Megs, I would choose one or the other.

Don't clay textured plastic/rubber trim. Stick to paint, glass, and clear plastic (lights).

You can use those products on the glass, but Klasse AIO by itself has proven to be very effective on glass, so I'd probably use that as a standalone.

You don't have to wash between layers of LSP; only if the car is driven / gets dirty. If this is not the case, it may be a good idea to QD the car to remove any light dust if it's been sitting.

Being that FP has barely ANY cut to it, and IP is fairly mild, I would likely just end up using IP, but it can't hurt to try FP first to see where it gets you. You have the right mentality though, start with the least abrasive approach possible.

Yes, IHG would be used after polishing but before sealing. However, I'm not sure if Ultima would have any bonding issues over IHG.

Re: Ask the Autogeek! Question & Answer Thread

Thanks Matt. I'll ask the Ultima experts if UPGP will bond over IHG. Gotta love the acronyms!

Re: Ask the Autogeek! Question & Answer Thread

Hello,

I'm new to detailing world. I have a red 08 350Z, and it has moderate to serious swirl marks. I've just ordered 7424, and I'd like to know if Wolfgang Total Swirl Remover Kit 3.0 will be good enough to remove the swirl marks. I'd also like to know if P21S Concours Carnauba Wax would work well with Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant 3.0.

Wolfgang Total Swirl Remover Kit 3.0 consists of:
Total Swirl Remover Kit

16 oz. Wolfgang Total Swirl Remover 3.0
16 oz. Wolfgang Finishing Glaze 3.0
16 oz. Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant 3.0
16 oz. Wolfgang Instant Detail Spritz

Wax:
P21S Concours Carnauba Wax
P21s

Any other suggestions if these aren't good enough?
Thank you.

Re: Ask the Autogeek! Question & Answer Thread

Do you sell 6.5" foam CCS LC pads? I only see 5.5 and 7.5.

Give the TSR a try with a white LC pad first. If that doesn't do anything bump it up to the orange. The Wolfgang finishing glaze is kinda like a nano polish. It's not a true glaze. Use that after the TSR with a lesser pad to finish off the paint. I usually re-wash after polishing to get the dust and excess polish off. Apply the DGPS(deep gloss paint sealnat), let it haze for about a hour, then buff off. Wait 12-24 hours for the sealant to cure, then apply your P21S. It will look great on top of the sealant.

Re: Ask the Autogeek! Question & Answer Thread

Really sorry if this has been asked a million times but what do you dilute your ONR to was washing, QDing, and Clay lube? Also your APC what do you dilute to for 16-32oz bottles and how many different ones do you recommend ie. strong medium light...Again sorry if this is wrong place or if been asked a bunch...Thank you

Thanks!

But is it stupid to use a 6.5" pad on a 6" Makita 9227C?
