Where did my post go?

I started a new thread, and it's been either moved (to where i don't know, even a search can't find it) or has been deleted.

Why? It was only a call for help and advice

Re: Where did my post go?

And it shouldn't need to be in a queue for the mods, as it contained no pics, etc.

Also it was showing on the forum for quite some time, as i noticed a few people had seen it, albeit with no replies.

Re: Where did my post go?

I noticed it. It's (and I'm making an educated guess) been locked because it is too similar to another thread you made.

Re: Where did my post go?

According to his post history, his last post prior to this one was 5-2004? It must have been deleted?

That's weird, I didn't check the dates. He posted a thread in 2004 and a thread just recently that were similar. I wouldn't delete a thread that was similar that far apart. He was just asking for advice and product recommendations.

Re: Where did my post go?

I've copied and pasted my previous message. As you can see, it has nothing to do with any previous posts from me. I initially posted the same on Detailing World (for the 1st time) hence the newbie bit for that forum. Just didn't change it for here.

Hiya all, been looking at this site for some time, gathering as much info as i can handle, and will shortly be entering the detailing world myself to perhaps correct a few cars belonging to me and various family members.
I will be buying a Silverline rotary (orange) very soon, and intend to use it with the Menzerna range (Menzerna Power Gloss S 34 A, Menzerna Intensive Polish PO85RD3.02, Menzerna Final Finish PO106FF, Menzerna Final Finish PO85RD - via the 250ml sample pack) for paint correction. I was then thinking about going the Zaino route for the finish, perhaps Z2-pro (with a dash of ZFX for good measure!) topped with Z-8.

I'm thinking my procedure would be as follows:

Wash (2 bucket system using Meg Gold Class Shampoo & Megs washmit)
Clay (Megs cb & spray)
Wash again, then dry.
106ff on finishing pad, then working through the pads/polish strength if not correcting properly.
Reduce polish (if necessary) down to PO85RD
Z2-pro (with ZFX)
2nd coat of Z2-pro
Z-8

I will also be using mf towels only.

1) Am i correct on my procedure, or have i omitted anything? Would you go this route, and if not, what would you change?

2) What best value pads should i go for? I've read that 3m are probably one of the best, but which pads exactly? Are there some really good alternatives?

3) I will be starting my detailing experience with my wife's Ford KA, which is pretty knackered to be honest, with multiple dings, dangs & scratches. (like i said, my wife's car - Women!) Therefore my introduction to the rotary won't be too daunting or scary for me (the car can't look much worse atm, only better from now on in) but there is one aspect that i would like some advice on. How can i remove spray paint some vandal did a while back? I've added some pictures so you can clearly see what i mean. What would be the best way to tackle this, on both the body and the trim?

Thanks in advance for any input, and once again, hello from a newbie

Bradgr

Re: Where did my post go?

Incidentally, i tried to upload some pics of the spray paint, but as my post count was too low, it wouldn't allow it.

Your best bet is to send a Private Message to one of the moderators, here. They're the only ones who can shed some light on this.

Re: Where did my post go?

From second sticky: "Here's what's going on: For the first 10 posts for a new member, any post that starts a new thread, or contains a picture or URL will NOT be posted immediately. Instead your post goes to a moderation queue, where one of the moderators will approve it before it's posted into the forum."

Appears to me you got caught in that gap between post 10 and 11 so your orignal post starting a thread showed up AFTER the one asking where it was...

Re: Where did my post go?

But my post WAS up on the board, as others saw it too. It was removed after being seen.

Must have been one of the mods thinking it was too similar to a previous post.
