Getting scratches out of side mirror glass

Do you all have any reccomendations for getting scratches out of the sideview mirror glass? I some how got a couple small ones that are not that deep. I tried some Zaino Z12 glass cleaner on them which says it will take care of small scratches. It works great on contaminants, but I guess not so great on everything else. I didn't really do anything except slightly cover them. I didn't want to try a polish and possibly make it look worse. What do you all reccomend for taking care of this?

I would suggest a glass polish by hand...in particular 1Z glass polish...a 4 inch pad on a PC would prolly be ok but thats a tight space!

Re: Getting scratches out of side mirror glass

first you need to find out if it is glass
as a lot are now made from plastic

then you will need a glass polishing kit that fits your drill
(search for the link they get posted alot)

glass is much harder then paint, and all "glass polishes" used by hand are just "glass cleaners"

F.Y.I. you will need to apply a good amout of pressure and I am not sure the side mirror can take it

the glass can easlly become distorted with this process

IMO just use a polish you have to clean it well and maybe "fill" the scratches some

Look into the option of just replacing the glass. If it's not something fancy like heated, tinting, or LEDs, it may not cost much.

Turtle wacs werks good. It leaves a hard shell . Hard like diamonds. just put it on with a rag. let it dri and then take it off with another rag. use a diffeerent rag because the firt rag will be wet.

Well I doubt it's real glass, more like plastic like 90% of todays cars.
