ONR+Distilled Water

It has been my experience with ONR that a good bit of dirt is left behind (which is evident when looking at the MF after finished wiping) during washes when a vehicle is more dirty (and by this I mean more dirty than what a lot of people would have just QD'd before ONR came to the market). IMO it is very different than a traditional wash which always leaves the wash medium and bucket fairly clean and clear. With ONR, I always have a dirty solution and wash medium afterword.

On a side note, when I first started out professionally, I vowed to keep my vehicle clean 24/7. But being so busy, I rarely have time or interest in doing so. Using DI water in a 5 gallon bucket with ONR can pretty much allow me to do a daily 3 minute (if that) wipe down and walk away. I'll have to give it a shot. Great post BTW.

Edit: see if you can get a sink-to-hose adaptor from Home Depot or Lowes. They used to be really easy to get back when water beds were all the rage. Anyway, using one of those adaptors should allow you to hook up the CR spotless and pull a few gallons of DI water. Either that, or run down to the local grocery store and buy a couple of gallons of distillled water.

I think I'd get some crazy looks from the fiancee wheeling a crspotless into our kitchen.

It would be good to fill up a few DI water jugs when they run out though.. and I guess if you don't run water through the resins often enough it's good to try and empty the system as much as possible so it doesn't promote mold growth.

I need a house.. ugh.

Best you break her in to the detailing-crazy now, bit by bit. She'll need to get used to MF's hanging from the shower rod next to her silky unmentionables now if the relationship is gonna stand a chance.

I was gonna do the ONR test on my car tomorrow, but I gotta drive the car a total of five hours today, so it's gonna be too dirty for just ONR; it's going to get a full on traditional wash with the BHB. But today is going to be spent finishing up that Bentley, and giving Greg Nichols the "Grammy" award, for most instilled holos in one detailing. Prestigious award, I know, but he really does have it coming to him. You guys should see this car. It's got so many holos in it, you could mount it on a credit card and watch it change colors as you bend the card. But the correction work is finally done, and today it's gonna get the polishing it so richly deserves... Sorry, what was this thread about again??

If you are seeing dirt on the drying towel, you are not washing it enough. You may have to ONR the section more than once.

Mindflux you can pick up DI water from Walmart, here they are $0.72 a gallon.

just finished test this idea. it leaves spots. spots come off easily though. won't be doing it again.

I keep an ONR solution with distilled water in a spray bottle. After a conventional wash rinse, I spritz the panel with the ONR and then wipe dry. I feel it halps reduce potential marring.

What sort of spotting?

Does it look like normal water spotting? dirt accumulation spots? ONR residue spots?
pics?

I've used distilled water with every ONR wash I've done thus far...even though it hasn't been that many. No strange residue spots for me.

very faint whitish color spots most likely onr residue. dirt really notice any dirt in them the spots. sorry didn't take any pics. used qs to wipe down before putting cover on. going on vacation for the 4th.
