I'm just now getting into detailing and fell in love with it.
I'm planning on getting
Flex 3401
Menz SIP, 106
Yellow pad
Orange pad
White pad
Black pad
Blue pad
4xeach
PB Natty wax
PB Ex-p
Clay bar (clay magic)
What i need to know is what am i missing? i know im missing exteroir/interior trim products cleaners and protectant, carpet cleaner, engine bay cleaner, wheel cleaner, wheel wax, wheel well cleaner, leather care, vinyl dash rubber cleaner
I head 303 is good for interior..can it be used on the exterior?
Engine bay, wheel well...can i use like simply green? or will simply green kill my paint under the hood
thanks | |

I like Detailer's Domain 16x16 uber microfibers as well. There are other choices too such as the Vroom brand located at Target, but the list goes on... P21S TAW is likely one of the safer cleaners for under the hood and on painted surfaces. The same goes for P21S's wheel cleaners.
I haven't used any 303 products on the exterior. I like Optimum's Leather Protectant (formally Protectant Plus, I think) on interior leather/vinyl.

whats purple foamed wool pad? i thought it was only made for rotary? is that more for compounding? like power gloss or something?
Are those eurow o'reily corp towels better than OTC stuff like autozone, walmart etc.
i was looking at detailed image towels, detailer's domain towels doesnt look too pricey.
which one do you think i should get, i dont wanna polish and use a cheap MF towel and put swirls back on the paint.
Do i use the MF towel to dry car after wash.
Whats the different between a MF towel and an all purpose MF towel? can i use a all purpose MF towel for polish/wax/sealant
whats a good protectant for the exterior trim?
Sorry for all the questions, i'm just trying to do it right the first time
one more question do i really need all those pads or should i get less
Thanks! | |

which one do you think i should get, i dont wanna polish and use a cheap MF towel and put swirls back on the paint. i like the eurow towels because of the deep nap they have. can't really say if they are better than anyones else's. just be sure to do the cd test before using it one your paint.
Do i use the MF towel to dry car after wash. waffle weave type are the favored type of mf for this.
Whats the different between a MF towel and an all purpose MF towel? can i use a all purpose MF towel for polish/wax/sealant not sure. use my eurow towels for just about everything. i dry with wwmf and have some shorter nap type mf for door jambs and old one for the wheels.
whats a good protectant for the exterior trim? a trim freindly sealant/wax is good. some use 303, poorboys, and ultima as well as some others are pretty good.
Sorry for all the questions, i'm just trying to do it right the first time
one more question do i really need all those pads or should i get less your pad selection will be based on many things ie. experience, how much correction is needed, and type of paint (soft/hard), compounded be used with the pad are a few of the things that will determine the pad selection.
Thanks![/quote] | |

When using a PC, the pads tend to gum up with product pretty quickly. Instead of going into your house to clean them all the time, its easier to just put a clean one on.

I c, so it can be used for polishing wet sand marks? or real dull paints?

Didnt understand this part:
compounded be used with the pad are a few of the things that will determine the pad selection

use my eurow to remove polishes, waxes, sealant, qd's and such on your paint. remeber to remove the tags and wash them before first use.
if your getting the flex you might also consider the flex edge adapter.
compounded be used with the pad are a few of the things that will determine the pad selection
should have read as compounds to be used...
