I think I'll hit one of the bigger auto parts stores over the weekend and see if I have any better luck. Will stop back in Wally World again too and look for that Prep-Sol.
Thanks everyone. | |

I just wanted to see if you've had any luck finding the Wal-Mart prep sol at any of our local Wally World's? I'll be running out tonight to pick some up, so I thought maybe you'd know which locations had it. I'll probably start at the one on Nicholasville Road. Quote:

I didn't buy any because I already have some similar products. I'm sure Zone or Advance would have something like that..... I remember buying an aerosol can/s from one of those places when I was doing some painting on the '40. The Wal-Mart stuff would be cheaper and you can put some in a spray bottle, just be careful and don't huff it. Actually you might want to call CarQuest and see what they have....... in a gallon container it might be cheaper still in the long run. Since they carry paint you know they'd carry something like that.......... I think the stuff I got from them was the Omni brand.

I'll call Anthony at CarQuest today, to see what they have. I called them yesterday to see if they could order the 6" 3M Ultrafina pads...No go. They said it doesn't even show up in their system.
Thanks for the suggestion. I have that VW Beetle I need to finish up this weekend, so I need some prep sol. Thanks, John. Quote:

Also, no luck finding the Prep-Sol.

Certainly they can scratch and mar easily, but regarding chemical resistance, they're tough. Look at the abuse they receive in areas which use salt and/or calcium chloride frequently in the winter.
I've used Purple Stuff diluted 1:1 with water for a quick and one time wash to get rid of wax buildup with no residual effects. however, as soon as I had rinsed and dried it, I immediately went ahead with an AIO and sealant coverage. 1991 Red Buick Reatta; original paint with clearcoat.

I was there this morning. look on the end cap next to the touch up paint. they had 2 colors when i was there. one was blue and one was green. the green one works best for bugs.
