re-use pad on test panel????

If after doing a test panel, the light swirls cannot be taken out with let's say 106 and white or green LC Pad, can i just use the same (used) white pad with IP? wondering if IP with white pad even an option. i've never seen or read anyone here use that combo.

thanks from this rotary noob

Re: re-use pad on test panel????

Maybe you should try a more aggressive pad like an orange pad.

Re: re-use pad on test panel????

IP on a white pad will work fine. You can usually go up in aggressiveness with the same pad, just not down. Some big abrasives may be left in the pad from a compound that will not go well with a lighter polish.

On another note, be careful if you do use an orange pad with a rotary. I don't like them at all and I will definitely recommend wool pads. The run cooler, cut faster, and control easier. It may be a good idea to research wool a little. I usually use LC white, black, or blue pads -read soft-. If I need more cut i will use wool.

I would try IP with a white pad first though.

thanks, guys.

funny thing is, the very faint spider-webbings can only be seen in certain angles. you really have to look for them even on a very sunny day
