Re: Do you like Zaino ????

I have nothing to say about Zaino or Klasse other than both go a really, really, long way. I think it'd be impossible to break down the cost per coat on either, since a properly applied coat of either one would probably be less than 1/4 oz.

Yeah, it's not very substantial next to say a jar of Souveran, or Concours/Concorso, or even Mystery.

Really though, if you perform a double-blind test, no/very few people would be able to tell the difference between carnauba moose topped with Natty's Blue, and Klasse AIO topped with Vintage. With everything else being equal, it would be very tough.

Re: Do you like Zaino ????

My Zaino package just arrived today. I have put two coats of z5pro/zfx on so far and will top with z2 tomorrow. I couldn't hold back from all of the hype anymore. But in all honesty, I think the prep products on the one to keep up on. ie 105, uf. These are the products that really improve the looks of the car. I think this order of Zaino will be my last (freakout and buy) LSP. After about ten of them, I have learned that the difference is minimal. I have been really impressed with DWG.

OH ya!! Can I top DWG with Z2 or z5

That's all subjective. I was just referring to their usage.

Yes, you can. And I bet it would look fabulous. Wait, did I just say "fabulous"? I've been watching too many home decorating shows with the wife, I guess.

Durability *may* be compromised.

I definitely prefer Opti-Seal over Z2 in terms of appearance and application. Durability is similar IME.

Interesting view Rob. I have OS & UPGP and like the look they give.

Not seen Zaino yet - nearly been swept along with recent hype about this stuff but so far resisted. Would really like to see them side by side and try and understand whether the hype is justified

"Recent hype"?

Hype has surrounded Zaino for more than a decade! I believe that the hype was somewhat justified many years ago, but personally feel that the competition has more than caught up.

Zaino is still an excellent product though.

BTW, which do you prefer between OS and UPGP?

Re: Do you like Zaino ????

I'll throw my $0.02 in for this.

I dont like Zaino. It looks killer, beads great and is super easy to apply, but IME, the durability is on par with NXT. I cant get it to bead on a ISO 50/50 wiped surface over well prepped paint for longer than say a month, GARAGED.

I much prefer #21.

Z-8 on the other hand, is worth every friggin penny, but IMO, I wont buy Z2 or Z5 again.

The hype is really hitting Detailing World and the UK right now. Been a very niche product due to crazy pricing in the UK ($45 for Z2/5, $50+ for Z-AIO etc) but a recent slight price reduction and the appointment of a popular figure on DW as a development manager, has suddenly lead to it becoming the next great thing

I have used OS & UPGP in different circumstances, so a direct comparison is tough... I noticed more of an improvement in looks when I used OS over some other waxes on my dark red pearl Audi, than when I did the same with UPGP, but UPGP seems to have a VERY nice look after a few layers on my darker silver Saab. I prefer the beading and sheeting of OS over UPGP for sure. So far though, no definitive answer on it

Thanks. As you know I have been very happy and impressed with OS, but there are several people here who have used both and prefer UPGP. I will probably order some UPGP before the end of the summer.
