Re: Just bought Gilmour foam gun, question on soap

I've used a few, only 3 noteworthy: TOTL BubbleBath, DP Extreme Foam, & Optimum Car Wash Consentrate. Here's the Optimum:

For this degree of foam (clings very well), I put 8 oz. OCWC and 24oz of water in the reservoir and set the ratio to 4oz. per gallon. I can do several cars before refilling the bottle.

I disagree, I think the Foamaster II is better than the regular one. The II isn't all plastic, the back part where the gun attaches to the quart bottle has brass quick disconnects. That would be where I would be worried about it being weak, if it was all plastic but it's not, it has brass where needed. The plastic top and dial, make it lighter, easier to read, and the valves don't stick from corrosion if you don't use it for awhile. There's an assumption that there being more brass would make the regular one better but I don't think there's a difference in performance or durability. It's not cheap plastic they are making out of. So if there's people deciding between the two, my vote is for the II.

Re: Just bought Gilmour foam gun, question on soap

I had the exact same question as the OP. Seeing as the specific question didn't get answered, I'll bump it up to the top.

With CWG, what ratio?

The Eagle One works good for me too. It is also great that I scored a ton of it for $1 per jug and just found some more (10 or so) for $2 per jug. I should be stocked up for awhile.

Any chance you could re-post the picture(s) associated with this thread??

Would help me with my Optimum Car Wash dilution ratio questions.

Thx.

See ya.

agreed, and you can fill the foam gun up four times from that...

Re: Just bought Gilmour foam gun, question on soap

so whats the difference between the foammaster 1 and 2? obviously the 2 is all plastic construction, but is it better when it comes to spray foam or working with it? or did they simply reconstruct it to make it cheaper to make? id like to get one, but dont wanna get the one that wont last as long as the other, or if the first had a few bugs, id want to pick up number 2

i have the one with the brass pin and would prefer it over the plastic one if i had to choose all back over again. i'm sure you can't go wrong with either one...
