Break the clay bar in half. Just use one half at a time. No need to use the whole thing because this way you will have a fresh piece for later.
Don't spray the whole car down at once.
Clay lube tends to evaporate pretty quick. Just spray the area that you are going to work on. Think of your car in 1/4s or even 1/8s. Just do one section at a time. The clay should just glide across your paint. Do one section and then feel behind it. You'll notice that it becomes glass smooth almost instantly. Not much pressure is required at all. Nearly none in fact. You can follow up the clay with a towel and wipe off the lube or you can just wait till you are all finished and rewash the car (that's what I do).
You are going to like clay. It is really simple to use. Practice on your back bumper and see how you like it. You'll notice a huge difference right away. Good choice with the Mother's clay too. That's good stuff.
