Exclamation Cam Spray foam cannon discontinued?

Hi guys, new member here and have been reading some threads regarding the foam cannon from cam spray which most members have been getting from here Cam Spray 527100 - Foamer Attachment but instead of the original cam spray foam cannon that members have been having success with I received a Gilmour Foammaster II foam gun instead which can be had for $39.99 on Amazon. Both everywasherpressure.com and Cam Spray are telling me they are discontinuing the old foamer attachment and have replaced it with the Gilmour unit. They included the connections to connect to a pressure washer but I have not heard of anyone using the Gilmour unit with a pressure washer. I called Cam Spray and they informed me that it was okay and the same thing as the previous model. Just a warning to anyone thinking of purchasing the Cam Spray foamer from everypressurewasher.com and and also looking for more info about this Gilmour unit they have replaced it with.

Re: Cam Spray foam cannon discontinued?

So I tried it out with my electric Karcher PW and the results werent as good as the foam cannon videos with the original Cam Spray version. Im thinking of returning this as the foam does not spray out with much pressure like in the videos. More like it flows out like using a regular hose.

Re: Cam Spray foam cannon discontinued?

I dont have a camspray unit myself but it could be a number of things

Hard or soft water
water temp
Shampoo brand used - and amount in conjunction with water
or even just the setting on the cannon itself

Screw around with it a bit more and read up here im sure 2nd time around will be better!

jackxjack, which video are you comparing it to? If you're using a electric Karcher PW, there's a member on here who posted some videos a few months back using a Karcher electric pw and it's a good comparison on how yours should operate. If you're comparing it to SuperBee's video, even with the original CamSpray you're not going to get the same results as he was using a gas powered John Deere pw with more than 3000 PSI IIRC.

Re: Cam Spray foam cannon discontinued?

'I was comparing to the results from this thread http://autopia.org/forum/car-detaili...t=karcher+foam My karcher is also 1750 psi and for some reason using the Gilmour foam gun I don\'t get the same type of pressure as in the videos shooting out of the foam gun. Its more like a steady flow of water if I had used a hose. The pressure is fine when I reattach my wand. This is on max dilution ratio and max pressure on the karcher unit. Does anyone have experience using the Gilmour unit with a pressure washer?'

Re: Cam Spray foam cannon discontinued?

I have a 1800 psi gas pressure washer and get very thick foam with my foam lance. If there are no more to be found, I'd better take good care of mine.

Re: Cam Spray foam cannon discontinued?

I was comparing to the results in the thread by maxpsi "foam lance attachment test" where he is using the original Cam Spray foam cannon paired with an electric Karcher at 1750psi. I get no where the same results as in those videos. The water/foam doesn't even spray out with the same pressure with the Gilmour unit. Feels like Im using a regular water hose. The instructions say recommended pressure is 40-90 psi and weird how Cam Spray is replacing the old model with this unit which was meant to be used with a water hose. Anybody with experience using the Gilmour with a pressure washer?

Re: Cam Spray foam cannon discontinued?

As far as I remember there is a big difference between a foam gun and a foam cannon, one works with a low pressure garden hose and one works with high pressure PW.
If I were you I would return it asap and buy a foam cannon, the link below is where I got mine ,they also have all sorts of adaptors for your PW.

Going to be returning the Gilmour unit. Anybody with any reviews of the pressureparts.com foam cannon? Would be even better with photos or videos of it in action. Thanks

I have not had a chance to try it but another member (ggk) tried it and loved it ,the only thing he said was that he needed to try different settings to find the best point for making thick foam, but that goes with any foam cannon ,to get a thick foam you have to try different settings, different soaps , etc. hard or soft water also has an effect.
