OS on BMW Black - weird results

Has anyone had any issues with Optiseal on a jet black BMW. Dunno if the paint lines differ in Europe vs. US , but this is a USA built BMW. Glasurit vs ????

It's on a X5. I was trying Optiseal today and with a mist to prime the pad, and then a short mist on the hood, applying very thinly, it started to *spot* up. Not a haze but small spots here and there as if there were waterspots - whiteish hazelike spots on the hood.

I proceeded to do the rest of the hood, and then went over the spots again with Optiseal after 30 minutes to see if it would clear those spots up. No go.

I wiped the hood with ZAIO / finish pad - and just went with a coat of Souveran.
Before I know it, I will be winterizing it anyhow.

Spray the pad only when applying OS.

I agree that there could be water spot ghosting that remained from your last polishing session.

Re: OS on BMW Black - weird results

Sounds like water spots to me too, from your description. If they're not really spots, but "ghosting" from old spots, is it possible to remove them with alcohol?
