Re: I just ordered Vintage
Perfectly understandable. It isn't something you should do blindly. The problem with Vintage though is that its only available in the refillable format (or in "other" non authorized formats lol!). Admittingly I still have a hard time with zymol and the prices. Some of those retails are outrageous. Funny you should mention it, that I wasn't necessarily looking to upgrade when I went with Vintage. Part of the thought process was the fact that I didn't want to keep putting 150 to 200 bucks into a wax forever (despite the fact that I was really enjoying Concours).
I would definitely spend time with some of the other zymols and also match them with their competitors b4 making a big purchase on Vintage.

Like I said earlier, I was absolutely amazed at the rendering power of Concours, and I thought that it would not be beat; Vintage quickly changed my opinion of it vs. concours. I still hold concours with great esteem, but Vintage is all about clarity, volume, color intensity and reflective power. You won't find greasy residue or an oily sheen with this caliber of EG (and I dare say with most of the authentic zymols).
Now...............I just can't wait to see it on the Jag. I am a sucker for a zymol and red!!!!
MDRX....you owe me some more sun shots........
and my friend Accumulator..............you are next................lol!!!!!!

i have to say everything you have said about vintage is true.. mmm i love vintage
i want to get it on the jag but we have a few more months of hybernation for her.. its always a sad time in my life...
maybe ill make a trip across canada to go work on the t-bird.. or my buddied t-bird... two red matching 55 little birds with vintage... its what dreams are made of.....
I am goingout for dinner with him tom, maybe ill see if i can crash at his place in exchange ofr workon on his clasic car colllection...

Cool. At least I know that I wasn't the only one that saw some of Vintage's qualities. It is very wide.....it's finish qualities still amazes me, with me approaching my second year in using Vintage.

Re: I just ordered Vintage
I am in the process of taking all the old off and starting with new..... Men. polishes then the coats of VINTAGE. Down here we don't have to worry about snow, and my garage is heated. So The RX8 is getting a makeover. Ahhhhh........Yes.......What fun !!!

Diesel...13" of schnow.........that's hillarious!!!! Ever try driving in snow in a tail happy Fbody?? Even more hillarious
Edit: I re-read the question. Mike, if I read right, you're wondering why I havent used as much of the Vintage in a given year's time right?? I only use it on the signature car, and unfortunately time, circumstances and weather doesn't permit me to detail all year round. Thus my season starts in april and ends in november, and even though I generally consume a lot of wax, it will take some time for me to go through the container (Guys and gals.........no samples though. Its hard to explain, but in essence I cannot. My apologies!).
As for the wax. I use zymol for the camaro, but the daily driver will get the p21s (I may try victoria next year????). The reason for this is that p21s is much easier and quicker to apply. It would be too time consuming to maintain a regimen of Vintage on the daily driver (I have to schedule my wax sessions during the warm season as is!).
I did observe how Supe was able to get great durability out of vintage on his daily driver, so it may make me experiment next year with it. However, I am a firm believer in the "one lsp" method; Thus whatever lsp I start with in a given season will be the one that I finish up with.
