Re: I just ordered Vintage

Hi calgary, I'm curious about a few things.

Do you have to ship the plexiglas container back to Zymol or is there an inner container/sleeve that holds the wax? I'm wondering how much that thing weighs and how much does it cost to ship?

Does Zymol pay for the return shipping or do you have to pay both ways?

I've heard different stories about Zymol limiting the number refills you can ask for per year - is there any truth to that?

Also, I assume you originally had Zymol ship it directly to you via UPS, right? How much did UPS ding you for "brokerage"?

Thanks.

Re: I just ordered Vintage

phillipM-yes i have applied it via towl, since i have refills i have tried it all, i have used a cold applicator, with a warm applicator, mybare hands, hand with latex gloves, hands with neoprine gloves,i have tried terry cloth, tried mf, i have tired almost everything.
I have since ordered a polsishing pal and some pads to see hwo that works.. i figure why not, yeah some of them sue way more wax then needed but thats the joy of vintage

deanksi- cool, yeah there is lots of info here on ocd, i have not stated many opions (well atleast i dont think) i have simply posted what happened when it happened, for example when after a month i got an e-mail, i posted that i got an e-mail......

but vintage is safe at home now.. she sits on my mantel as a peice of art. (i cant afford art now) so all is good now thanks
ohh and i mnot ready to refill it yet, im thinking i will need to in feb. or early march.

superstring- you have to ship the whole contaner back, there is no sleave to remove.. wel not that i have found, although its not to to heavy.. remeber is over a pound lighter when you send it back

You have to pay shipping both way. it costs mt 35 bucks to have it shipped form zymol orginonaly..

I contacted diance and dave (i think thats his name but i ould be wrong) on 5 or 6 occasison over 6 or so months, i kept asking is there a limit, i have heard of a limit, They said nope you can refill as often as you want.. the is no limit.

Zymol shipped is ups yes, they charged me 180 and change.. so under 190 bucks,, so a litle over duty (duty being 120) but i was expecting it to be 180 so i was not worried.

hope that helps

ohh and on a side note, if you intersted in vintage I woild recomend tryin one of the lower estate glazes first, althoutgh each is diffrent and has its own looks they all apply (well the ones i have tried) in a similar fashion, they take some getting used to... i would say try concours see how you like it, if you like it then great if not then welll you saved 1800bucks.... just my opion ofcourse as thats what i did

calgary, thanks for answering my questions. But surely you didn't have to pay Duty? Any product produced in the US should be duty free - Free Trade and all that!

thre wasnt a duty but there was the gst.. all items brought into canada are subject to a 6% gst excluding gifts under a value of $40CDN... so yeah it was just the gst plus broakerage fees

Re: I just ordered Vintage

Looks like you're enjoying the vintage. Its great to see that some of the things I talked about with this wax you have experienced.....especially with its talent as it gets a little old.

Like I said earlier, I was absolutely amazed at the rendering power of Concours, and I thought that it would not be beat; Vintage quickly changed my opinion of it vs. concours. I still hold concours with great esteem, but Vintage is all about clarity, volume, color intensity and reflective power. You won't find greasy residue or an oily sheen with this caliber of EG (and I dare say with most of the authentic zymols).

Now...............I just can't wait to see it on the Jag. I am a sucker for a zymol and red!!!!

MDRX....you owe me some more sun shots........

and my friend Accumulator..............you are next................lol!!!!!!

Re: I just ordered Vintage

I have always said all I want to do is try it, if I like it i will buy it but I am not paying 2Gs for something I have never seen in person.

Might not be the right thing to some people but for me it is too much of a risk I have purchased numerous products and just plain dont like them. Dont want for vintage to be the same
