Re: I just ordered Vintage
[quote=calgarydetail]ok another up date.
I just checked my CC statemtn online. It looks as though the money has been put back into my account, Its 2 am so I cannot call the bank for this question. I will in the morning but perhaps a late night surfer can help me out.
Mike this is sounding great. You know what...I'll bet that suckr didn't send sh(ugar)t!!
I had thought of asking that, just in case you received it from OCD, whether Zymol would honor the refill policy. Supe and a couple of others hit it right on the head. Zymol (may) not honor the policy if they sense that the purchase was not legitimate.
Your best move would be to order direct; However the $300 shipping that Picus mentioned concerns me. I will tell you what I think. Do your best to find a way to import the Zymol without sacrificing the refill policy; That is the real value of purchasing vintage. Without that, then you may as well just buy Destiny, or even stay with Concours (even if there could be an appearance difference).
If there's no other way than purchasing it directly from Zymol, then try explaining to Diane the predicament that you're in with customs and see if something can be worked out that way.
At any rate, if all things pan out, then I'm breathing an early sigh of relief. I just don't get some 'types' that take your money, promise you the world, and then don't deliver!

Re: I just ordered Vintage
The $300 wouldn't be shipping, it's because UPS would have to "broker" the package through customs, and they do that based on value. It's usually ~6%, which of $2000 is $300. That's ON top of duty/tax, so you would be looking at ~$600 in tax/brokerage/etc to bring it in. Ironically the shipping charge would be less than $25. Heh.
What I did was ship to a friend in NY state, he will ship to me via USPS (which I have learned can be tracked as you mentioned earlier). Done and done. USPS does not charge brokerage, an 9/10 times the packages get through with duty charges only, rarely they make you pay a broker to bring it in, but you can do that for under $50. UPS just gouges you on it. In fact there is a class action lawsuit against them about it.

Excellent, glad it worked out for you.
If any of you Canucks ever need someone to provide this same service for you, look no further than Fairly Reliable SuperBee's Canadian Shipping Services. I'd be happy to take your money... er... I mean help you get the good stuff to Canada.
Seriously, though, if anyone up north does need help with this, let me know. I'd be happy to help.

That's a kind offer SuperBee - it's a bit of a hassle on your end, but you'll be helping out any Canucks that take you up on it in a big way.

Something else occurred to me: what happens when it does come to refill time? Do you have to go through the same BS about having to send it through an intermediary or else pay ~$300 in UPS brokerage?.......I guess that's a way down the road, though!

haha yeah sorry I was sleep deprived, I was pulling an all nighter for an exam.. I guees it hit me pretty hard...
ok so I am not sure but i tink they will still honour the refilsl even if I get it from ocd becasue its who you register it, but im only 99% sure. I guees it doset matter at this point
If i order from zdocn I know I still get the refills, it is 2226 +6% tax so its a little more but im sure its quicker then ordering from zymol.
ohh well like I said I wont be ordering it until Iam through midterms, Ihave way to much on my mind.
ohh well, its off to bed for me.. im pooped
