One layer of Vintage lasted the summer on my Sequoia which sits outside 24/7. It was washed about once per week at the neighborhood touchless coin op.

CG CW&G can completely strip your vehicle of all LSP if you're not very careful in how much you use. It does seem to reduce the longevity of Vintage with regular use. That's not really much of a problem for me, though, cause I put on a new coat of Vintage every three weeks. I think I could stretch that out to every six weeks without any problem. I use the pressure washer, CW&G/Z7 combination at a minimum of twice per week.

ron231- Heh heh, if I had Vintage on something, there's no way that *I* would be experimenting with Collinite on half of it

But I *would* like to know how they compare.

I ran the Collinited Blazer through a touchless the other day, and it didn't quite shed all the dirt in places where I'd allowed it to build up and get firmly adhered (*very* dirty vehicle gets wet, gets even dirtier, dries in sun, repeat, etc.). But the last time I refreshed said Collinite was back at the end of May and maybe 85% of it did come clean.

SuperBee364- See how spoiled I am by Collinite's durability- I'm disappointed when it doesn't act 100% freshly-waxed after four months of hard use.

I'm a little confused here....sounds like the Vintage lasts longer on the Sequoia than on your MOPAR

Is it the difference in wash regimens?

Me either, I can't do it at my new/current shop

Yes, as well as the wash frequency. The Sequoia gets washed once a week whether it needs it or not, and the Charger isn't really ever dry, cause it's washed so often. I also believe that the CW&G isn't the easiest soap on LSP's, but it does such a great job (and since I wax it so often), it doesn't bug me a bit. I haven't really ever let the Vintage wear off of the Charger, so it's real durability is unknown. But I would be willing to bet it wouldn't last as long on the Charger simply becuase it's washed so often; minimum of twice a week, and quite often more than that. I'd like to see one coat of *any* LSP survive to the three month mark with 40+ pressure washings using CW&G under it's belt.

Thanks for the 411 on the CG CW. It seems like a interesting product to have that I can use to dwell after a long hard winter .

When I think of citrus wash.....I'm always thinking about the strenth of the Meg Citri Gel I have on hand. At 1:1 ratio, I use this for the most delicate of wheels. However, it has this tendency to warp-deform my Type 2 HDPE bottles.

Similar product made by P21.....don't have the same issues.
So dilution rate is key....I suppose when using the CG CW product.

Funny I washed the signature car today b4 applying another coat of vintage. The sight of the water scatting off of the paint was just priceless!!! Now with the signature car, it won't get washed a lot in any given year (I can count how many times on one hand). Its important to wash a sitting car at least a couple of times, bc even if it stays dry and covered, you will have some filming and residual haze coming from your lsp products and (I feel) some superficial oxidation of the paint. It was a great experience bc the wash on this car went so *effortlessly* smooth it was almost fun!!!

My daily driver work horse is another story lol!!!

That's how I was with the Jag when I was driving it regularly. For that matter, I washed my one Porsche after *every* commute one semester...that was back when I had free time

Yeah, it does make a huge difference when you don't let them get and stay truly *dirty*.

Must depend on the storage conditions. I quit covering the Jag and the RX-7 because a) it got too easy to completely ignore them and b) they're just too pretty not to see. I was pleasantly surprised that they don't seem to be suffering for it...the dust gets pretty bad after a while, but the fragile single stage is doing just fine. Well, I assume so with the Jag (haven't laid eyes on it since forever), the RX is definitely OK though, I was just looking it over yesterday.

FWIW, the SRP/Souveran combo I use on the Jag held up to over *two years* of uncovered indoor storage. Washed it and it was still slick, shiny, and beading. Sure didn't expect that!

Two years for a wax on paint??? Ok for storage, but a no-no for optimal looks. Better get.....

ohh so there are lots of naysayers here, I got kinda fed up and looked into customs.

Heres the deal... apperntly items over 1600 CDN need to go through s seperate system. I will get a letter telling me ineed to pay duty before I can pick up the item.
The wax basicly has to go through a diffrent system, hence the delay.

I also found out the guy in calgary got his letter on friday, his wax was ordered 7 days before mine. Im hoping my letter comes this week. To bad today was thanksgiving.. so we will play it by ear. After hearing about his order I have decided 1 more week of patience.

And picus congrats on the wax, you are now a member of a very cool club... the so dumb you spend way to much on detailing wax... dont worry im proud to be in the club
