Re: I just ordered Vintage
Well if Accumulator were a little more agreeable maybe I'd consider it. He enjoys giving me the run-around, so what's a better reward than convincing (tricking) him to throw down 2k. Trouble is.....is that he won't take the bait haha!!!! Now.........if Accumulator can spare 2k then I'd be MORE than happy to supply him with wax. Oh boy......let me quit while I'm ahead!!!
The suspense is killin' me. Hopefully soon Mike!!!

lbls1- Heh heh, [messing] with you is worth the $2K
But seriously, I've been giving a lot of thought to the way SuperBee364 is able to get his Vintaged vehicles clean with minimal mechanical agitation and it sure is an appealing thought. Especially for the vehicles that I can't polish much more.

I would love to see Superbee try this with vintage on half of his car and collinite 915 on the other and see which releases dirt better.
Superbee, would you accept the chalenge if I send you a sample of 915?

I tried the touchless method on my concours covered jag (3 applications) and a $30 toro leaf blower last weekend
Discovered I had to be quick with the leaf blower, because the smaller drops do start to dry and spot the car, and there were a few bug terds left over. A QD wipedown cleared it all up - but that sort of goes against the whole touchless thing
But it was sure as heck fun using that leaf blower and watching the beaded water fly all over the place!!

I'd love to. It's getting a bit late in the year for the foam gun/pressure washer touchless, so most of the evaluation will have to be done through the coin op touchless.
The coin op touchless doesn't do as good a job as my home touchless does, though. It's really hard to beat the cleaning power of CG's CW&G combined with Z7 in my foam gun.
It should still be a pretty good comparison, though.

An LSP that easily releases contaminants is by far the most important part of the touchless wash equation, but there is yet another very important part: the soap. I've tried soooo many combinations of soap that I honestly couldn't even venture a guess at how many, but I can tell ya this: 3 ounces of CG's CW&G and 1 oz of Z7 with 29 oz. of water in my one quart bottle on the foam cannon cleans better than any other combination I've tried. Bug guts, bird bombs, and even tree sap just doesn't stand a chance against it. I did have to use the BHB a couple times on some long standing tree sap and a bit of road tar, but other than that, it's touchless all the way. On really stubborn stuff, I've upped the CW&G up to four ounces, but I wouldn't want to go higher than that. Any more CW&G will start to strip off your LSP.
You can usually avoid having small drops that dry fast by using the open hose sheeting method prior to using the leafblower. CW&G also has some sort of drying agent in it that really helps prevent water spots.
And one last thought... you were able to clean the vast majority of your car without touching it. Only the small places where you had to remove the bug guts were subject to any potential marring at all. I'd call that a big success.

lol!!!!!! Glad to hear you say that!!!!
I'm also glad to hear of how compliant Vintage is in terms of washing. Seriously, though, my greatest like with vintage and all of the zymols is NOT how well they wash. I love how WELL the zymols WEAR themselves and show themselves on paint!
Anyday Mike!

Re: I just ordered Vintage
That zymol is a marketing ploy, way to expensive have used , the concours, before okay not that impressed, i been using optima and einszett with amazing results. I just can not justify spending that kind of miney for that stuff.

Re: I just ordered Vintage
SuperBee -
How gentle doe you find CG CWG on the LSP - Vintage on this example ?
Or can you comment on Vintage durability - specifics, DD or garage queen, etc.
All this talk about minimal mechanical agitation between you can Acculmator has perked my interest..... I've always had a sweet spot for nuba.

I absolutely agree with all you said I wanted to see how it all worked out, and how my combo compared with your setup, and while not perfect with what I have, it's pretty good, not to mention helluva fun
I may try mixing a little "photo-flo" (wetting agent by kodak, used as final rinse in film development) with distilled water as a final rise - the hose-sheeting method hasn't worked too well for me.
