To reference to the minivan. That's why you part out in "BFE." But then again, you do ignorant people that have to park right next to you when you are the very end of the parking lot...

Yeah, unfortunately that happens *alot* where I live. The parking lot can be 10% full. I'll park way out in BFE. Nearest car a football field away. Come back out to find some d@mn SUV parked so close I can't open my doors.

Hey you...take it easy on those minivan comments I bet my MPV got some of its door dings from "nice cars" that cost several times what it did
Heh heh, sorry, couldn't resist
It's currently off getting the rusty-looking (but still perfectly good) EGR housing replaced because it made the otherwise immaculate engine compartment look insufferable to me. Heh heh, I don't mind paying a bundle for that but I make excuses about not buying Vintage

Heh heh, I know what you mean.... A guy I work with has a brand new 997 TT. He and a few other of his exotic car afficionado friends were out meeting at some widening in a road out in the middle of no-where so they could, uhm, "Enjoy" their cars. His buddy pulled up to him in his own brand new 997, opened his door, and proceeded to put a huge door ding in the passenger side of his car.
And Accumulator, there's *nothing* wrong with replacing perfectly functioning car parts just cause they don't look good. At least, as long as the wife doesn't find out about it.

Edit: I stayed away from debating about the value of/or not purchasing Vintage, as it seemed that the consensus of this thread was that it is an excellent wax, and how much we are happy for Mike in his purchase. However, this wouldn't really feel like a Zymol thread without a few detractors. Its nice, though, that there were only a couple in this thread.
As I've said in the past, you cannot determine the worth of Vintage or any product without first trying the lsp out and doing a very thorough comparison. There have been some that have claimed to have tried Zymol and were not satisfied in its results. That is a perfectly acceptable position if in fact a Zymol did not produce a result as it may have been expected.
On the other hand, as a few of us have stated, the results of Vintage, in the opinion of a few, have been nothing short of astounding.
In the end, you won't really know how good Vintage is or any zymol is without experiencing it for yourself. You cannot truthfully say (or believe) that a $25 (or any other lsp for that matter) can be as good as Vintage without a comparison experience.
I can say, based on my experience, that I've yet to see other products (with the mild exception of perhaps one or two of the up and coming exotics, giving *benefit of the doubt* status, and a few high caliber Zymols) approach the dynamic range that Vintage has produced for me in person.
|
Those are the exact words I would've loved to said, but couldn't think of them for myself, everytime one of those prolific "no way it could be that good/you're an idiot for spending that much on a wax/it's no better than cheap product "X"" posts comes along.
I'd love to copy-and-paste that text into my sig.

Heh heh, actually Accumulatorette was the one who pointed it out to the service manager: "My husband thinks that rusty thing is probably for the EGR valve, but whatever it is we want it replaced so things look decent in there. What, three days? Nah, overnight it at whatever cost and just be careful not to touch the paint". Bless her heart
Oh, and YIKES about that 997!
