ONR & ONE... It's YOU guy's fault!

Here I spent months, and more dollars than I'd like to admit, to perfect the ultimate, touchless, "traditional" wash. My car was clean, and I was happy. Then you guys just had to start all those "OMG, ONR is great!" posts. *sigh*

So next thing I know, I'm cautiously applying ONR at QD strength with a squirt bottle, plopping an MF in two gallons of properly mixed ONR, and....... loving it. Hooked and reeled in. So I've been secretly using ONR instead of my touchless wash method for a month now. And I am *very* happy to report no marring. Then I bought a small spray bottle of Smartwax (CG's) ONE. I really liked this stuff, but there were two draw-backs: 1. the price. wow. waaay more expensive than ONR when purchased in this small spray bottle. 2. It's very hard to get *all* the dirt/grime/dust/contaminants off of your paint using this method. Just doesn't seem to be as complete of a wash as ONR.

Yet ONR had one drawback for me, too. In spite of my best efforts, I just wasn't able to get all the hard water smearing/marks off of my car when using ONE. I'd always have to go back over it with QD to really perfect the shine. Well, there aren't alot of QD's that are all that compatible with Vintage, so I just pretty much left the hard water smears on my car.

So yesterday I washed my car with ONR, then washed it again with ONE. Clean, no marring, no water smears and shin-y.

And it's all you guy's fault! Without Autopia I never would have heard about either of these products, and my car would not look as good as it does. So thanks, guys, for spending my money and making my car look so freaking good!

Yes, autopia has definitely caused me to spend a lot of my money on detailing. To be honest, I'd rather spend my money on good products than good clothes

I'm with ya there! I use to go and buy 60-80 dollar shoes. Now I go to wal-mart and spend 15 bucks on a pair.

I very glad you did not blame me for all your money spent! I guess the 2 gallons of ONE are doing you very well that I brought back. the ONR method you use I'll have to try when the winter sets in and washing becomes a bit more problematic in the freezing temps.

So if you have given up on the foam cannon for a bit, I guess you had better sell it to me!

Greg, we got very lucky that you got those gallons when you did. Less than a week after you got back, CG's raised the price to 46 bucks per gallon!

As for the foam cannon... not a chance!

Every time I actually find myself up early enough in the morning that the sun's not shining on my driveway yet, I fire up the pressure washer and foam cannon for a proper wash! But if I'm up at the crack of noon, it's ONR/ONE.

I was using *alot* of the ONE to do a complete wash. Way more than my wallet was comfortable with, plus I was still seeing some leftover gunk in the gaps between body panels. A pre-wash with ONR seems to do a great job, plus I find that I use *much* less ONE afterward.

So your using ONR and ONE over Vintage? I might have to try it over my Vintage this afternoon in the garage. It's 101 deg. heat index of 110. I'll turn on the a/c and give the RX8 a detail.

I was skeptical about ONR to start with. I had only used it as a qd until 2 days ago. I had to drive down a dirtroad 2 days ago and my truck was filty (it is black by the way). Well....I got out my foam gun and soaked the truck down with some soap and let it sit for a few minutes and then rinsed off. I was about to fill my bucket with Gold Class and had the ONR bottle beside it. I got to thinking abot it and the last time I wased my truck I got some straight line scratched from my waffle weave and haven't ordered a good one so I figured what the hell, I'll give ONR a shot. It was my first time so I can't say it really saved me any time but my truck has never looked that good from just a wash. My ww was always leving behind streaks and scratching my paint.....which brings me to another point...after I washed it..there were no scratches in the paint, not even the ones that were there before. I'm wondering since we have had so many hot days if the clear isn't actually flowing and fixing itself. I know there are clears that do that but I didn't know of this to be one of them. Anyway....ONR will definately be used on the truck from now on. I used a clean bucket with about 1 1/2 gallons of water ang a grit guard and the other with 2 gallons and ONR. I also used a sheepskin mitt. I let the mit soak in the solution for a minute or two and then started washing from top to bottom. At first I just grabbed the mitt out and noticed that it was hard to get everything completely dry because of all the water but then I began ringing out the mitt before washing the panel and it made a world of difference. I also noticed that I didn't have to get it 100% completely dry. I didn't have a single streak on the truck. The neatest thing I found was that I would do a panel and you could see the discoloration on the mitt from the dirt but there was absolutely nothing on the microfiber when I was drying. This stuff is simply amazing! Definately a thumbs up from me!

haha, I don't think that ONR has any filling ability, so the only plausible reason that the swirls weren't there is that the sun wasn't hitting it at the right angle or something

Maybe the ONR just cleaned so well that the dirt in the scratch came out, making it less visible?

I know it has no filling abilities. These were extremely fine but they are there no more

I used my halogens and I see nothing.

I have also tried ONR then ONE, great combo. ONE is almost a LSP .
