My Experience Today With Clay Magic

Last weekend I was looking around at AutoZone and noticed they have begin selling Clay Magic. I had heard many good words about the product so I decided to give it a shot. I purchased the clay with the lubricant for $9.99

I finally got around to using the stuff today on my 2000 Mustang which has never been clayed. The car is my daily driver and sees many miles on the interstate being subjected to many bugs. Needless to say the car needed somthing more than a wax.

This is my 2nd time using a clay. I tried some Meguiars clay about 2 years ago on my 1993 F150 and since had sworn to never use clay again because it left an incredible mess on my truck.

Form some reason I felt I should give it another try though. So today I first washed the stang. Then dried and got out the clay bar. Immediatley I noticed this clay was very firm yet plyable (spl?) I begin claying and before I even realized I had started I was done! The process was incredibley smooth and best of all the clay left no visable residue, unlike the Meguiars.

This stuff is excellent and I can really tell a difference in both the smoothness and brightness of my paint. I highly recommend it for the price.

Now I'm off to apply some #26 to the Stang.

Cool

The Autozone I went to discontinued it, which I thought was weird.

I've tried Meguiars consumer and professional version clay bars-the consumer version is too soft and sticky, and the pro version is hella sticky-like glue, but it works great on heavy overspray-which is what it is intended for. I've also used Mothers and Formula113's clay bars and both are too hard and plasticky, almost impossible to flatten out.

Clay Magic is the clear winner. Firm, but easy to flatten and as long as you use sufficient QD or soapy water, it won't stick, either. They also have a stronger red version for heavy paint overspray.

Sounds good!

Clay Magic is one really good clay for the price and quality! It's really a shame that Meguiar's consumer clay is so crappy. It was the first clay bar that I ever purchased as well, way back when. For those new to claying in general, it can really leave an uneasiness and bad taste towards a process that's really quite simple and easy when using a quality product. Thumbs up to CM for making life easier and less complicated...

Kelly -

Although I have never used it, I've heard good things about Mother's clay. On the other hand, stay away from Meguiar's as I heard that it streaks and is a pain to get off.

I believe that most Autopians will agree that Clay Magic is above Mother's. I'm always curious to find if there are any long term users of eith Griot's or Pinnacle clay.

I'm a long term user of Pinnacle PolyClay. As advertised, it does not fall apart, it remains pliable and leaves little if no residue. It seems to be worth the price as it will last quite a while if properly maintained.

Bought three packs of Clay Magic today and tried it out on my silver Civic. The clay as well as the lube didn't disappoint at all and at $10/pack, it's a great deal. I definitely liked it a little better than Mothers and Zaino.

Tony Clay while washing next time with the CM. IT is great.

PS I found some specs of Overspray from visiting a customer........ARGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG

Now I have to clay the whole truck again windows included.

Funny though.....I see more on the windows then I do the paint and I looked real close.........Maybe Z is slick???

I will report more later when I get a chance to clay.
