I can really only buy 3 at most so i really need to know what their cut is relative to foam pads. Would hate to end up with 1-3 pads that i cant use ya know, either being to aggresive or not aggresive enough ect.
Don't wash wool pads!! Invest in a cheap spur and use it regularly before during and after every use.
Here's what you need to buy to do 99% of all buffing.
Black wool - EDGE - (Heavy Cutting)
Green Wool - EDGE - (Light Cutting)
Yellow Foam - EDGE - (Cutting)
Blue Foam - EDGE - (Polishing)
I think that if you buy these as 2 double sided setups, it would be about the same price as 3 individual pads. If I had to buy just 3, I'd get the black wool, yellow foam and a blue foam.

Re: Edge/presta wool pads, finaly allowed to order, dunno what cuts to get

So where do i get a cheap spur? Are there spurs that are specific to wool pads?

From what you guys are saying it sounds like green wool and yellow wool would suite my needs well. Also sounds like using both with OP would be my best bet becuase of its low cut and infinite working time and zero dusting.

I think im gonna go with 8" on the wools and pick up 2 8" blue foams while im at it. The 6" are taking to long on hoods, roofs, truck beds ect, they have thier place just not on those types of areas.

Re: Edge/presta wool pads, finaly allowed to order, dunno what cuts to get

Here are cleaning instructions from the mfr:

This blue pad looks brand-new after a quick cleanup and has returned to its original shape and size following the washing.

Coupe, I've now got yellow (which I have not used), blue and green wool, all double-sided. Upon quick inspection, the material appears the same on all pads - - the only difference is the color Could the blend of the material be different for each pad? Sure, but it's difficult for me to discern if that's the case. Maybe somebody can ask the EDGE people if the pads are all the same.

Re: Edge/presta wool pads, finaly allowed to order, dunno what cuts to get

I have used the green and black edge wool on 2 cars now. I am in love.

Like Dave and Ryan have said the black is for heavy correction and cuts fast with presta 1500 even on hard clears. But it was not "out of hand" when I used that combo on heavy scuffs on my brothers dark blue dodge truck. Follow with green wool/presta 1500 and then a foam polishing pad and all is well, very well.

I spur my green/black wool after every other panel. I also soak in a bucket like Tom does with some APC. I rinse them out the next day.

I might be detailing a friend durango this w/e for the 3rd time. I plan on using green wool followed by some foam to clean it up.

The edge system with the wool is very smooth. Again I am in love.

Well i bought the green and yellow from this site:
eBay Store - AutoPainterSupply: Buffing Polishing Pads:

Seems like a great seller and he has everything that our most popular distributers wont/cant carry.

So much for that, they sent me a single sided green wool instead of the double sided that i ordered. They got the yellow one right at least.

Coupe,
Upon receipt, are these Presta wool pads the same as the Edge 2K pads?
Do they have the colored wear band embedded in the fibers to indicate when the pad need replaement?
Thanks for info.
